i would rather cook...same reason...throw on some music and just create a meal. for some it can be therapeutic too
- phi1671

for me, aside from the exercise, and believe me, washing the car can be exhausting, much of the appeal comes from my inherent need to battle entropy, growth, dirt, breakdown, etc.

I'm 25 so college was a much more hipster type scene. I used to resent them, but now I feel at home whenever i venture into a hipster restaurant.

I still love Nirvana and I like the Chilil Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins too. Just hate Pearl Jam.

- PhillySportsGuy

I remember there being a whole "Stone/Beatles" thing with Pearl Jam and Nirvana in that no one truly liked both of them. It was either one or the other.

If I'm forced to pick, I'd probably pick Nirvana.

I'm just glad he doesn't look exactly like his dad. Have you seen Popeye Jones?
- PhillySportsGuy

Well he's got his mom's ears so that was a huge step in the right direction.

The "Ten" album came out when I was in college. I didn't know anyone that didn't own that album.

That, Nirvana's "Nevermind", and Red Hot Chili Peppers "Love Sugar Sex Magic" will always remind me of being in college.

- johndewar

same for me. it was the times - and a feeling like rock music had come back destroying the plasticality (yes, i just made up word) of the 80s in every way shape and form.

I like Ten a lot, Vs a little less, Vitalogy a bit, and then not so much. The earlier stuff is pretty good, then bleh.

Kinda like Adam Sandler.

- jmatchett383

this. exactly this. and with vitalogy they had this terrible song about bugs...that was the beginning of the end for me.

I'll never understand that. I guess that happens with rappers sometimes. People pick sides of a battle. I think that's more for show though.

My favorite artists are the Black Keys and Jack White. Jack White hates them, but I wouldn't stop listening to either one.

I think the hatred by all fans of that song is what makes Chicago fans like it. Not only has your team allowed a goal, but now you have to listen to this song while the fans sing along. It's just the worst.
- PhillySportsGuy

Yes I hate that Chealsey whatever song, but you know which I hate the most.... the F ing Rangers song. Goooo aaaaa llllllll

Nirvana's "Nevermind" is the best album since 1990, hands down.

RCHP used to love them, but haven't liked them since after One Hot Minute. Once Anthony Keidis cut and bleached his hair, just lost their sound for me.

Was never a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, but they have some songs.

So, to summarize: I'm jaded and hate change.

I can except that as fact.

You are a trusted source with references.

But what if Holmgren is wrong?

I wear flannel shirts in the winter time, unironically, like it's still 1991, so what do I know.

Agreed re: RHCP. I don't think their music since then is bad, but it gets further and further from what I like about them.

Eh, not a fan. Still say Hammerfall's "Hearts on Fire" featuring the Swedish women's curling team is the best metal video ever.

But if we're going for best metal album ever, give me Manowar's Kings of Metal.

Laughton to juniors, Akeson to the new ECHL affiliate, Morin to the Flyers as the new #1 center when Giroux bolts for the KHL.

Holmgren for Grand Ruler of Earth and all orbiting celestial bodies.
