On another note: Seems like the League is playing hardball with broadcasting this year. Usually, since for as long as I can remember, Leafs TV always had the preseason games on, in the clear, on my Shaw Direct. They'd always have a free preview this time of the year. Not this year.
South of the border, the NHL Network had the Leafs/Flyers game as their alt game on Directv. It was blacked out, because the Sabres are supposedly my local sports network, in Upper New York State. Blacking out preseason games now?
In both countries, they aren't negotiating price, on Center Ice. One of the managers in the Sports department, at Directv, told me that they asked the NHL for some wiggle room, to promote the package and they nixed it. The NFL allows some negotiating room and some people actually get it free, or next to nothing, for Sunday Ticket.
NHL Center Ice pricing is:
Canadian Shaw Direct: $207.00 Canadian
U.S. Directv: $159.00 U.S.
As usual, the Canadians get ripped off, paying a 20% premium for the service. In most part, the U.S. service gives both feeds, when available, while in Canada, they only give one and games broadcast by MSG and Comcast are not in HD. The U.S. also has The NHL Network in HD, with an alternate feed game. Canada still has standard definition and no alternate feed games. |

Analysis of the game:
blacker, ranger, and rielly played really good and stood out the most
holzer and macwilliam suck
reimers glove still sucks
Carlyle finally used a timeout boys! thank the lord! too bad he didnt use one during the game 7 playoffs
Raymond, Kadri, Gauthier stood out the most - Mapleleafs_91
MacWilliam was easily one of the best dman, Reimers glove hand looked fine, he made a ridiculous save early in the game. Holzer was fine, Rielly was underwhelming and only had room to show his speed once.
No more analysis. |

Agree that MacWilliam looked good, guy lays several big hits in each of the games I have seen him play so far. Also liked how he fired Hartnell into the net when that hairy d-bag was sniffing for a rebound. |

I didn't think bollard looked overly good at times last night. It seemed like he was all over the ice at certain times and had no method to his madness.
I remember one particular shift and thinking that #63 is not going to be making the team, then I realized it was Bolland and I was like wtf?
I'll just chalk it up to first game of preseason with a new team |

Yes and Reimer better pull it together quickly, because he can't afford another MEH performance, like last night. |
