I know it's old news already but I still wish Gagne would have gotten a PTO. Then sign him to a very cap friendly deal if he was willing to accept it.

I think that part of the problem was that Gagne's definition of cap friendly and the Flyers definition of cap friendly was vastly different.

Just a theory, but Gagne's willingness to take a pay cut might have been overstated.

Very possible. Gagne might have considered a pay cut to be going from 3.5 million to 3 million or so, while the Flyers were looking at 1.5-2 million.

Given Bob Sauve's negotiation history with the Flyers in the past, I'd be amazed if that-or something close to that- wasn't the case.

It was nice to see him back last year and would have liked to finish out as a flyer, but in the best interest of the club, I think it's best they moved on. I'd like to keep the kids playing. I'm comfortable with their mix of vets and youngsters, especially of fill sticks around as a 7th dman. Even without him I think this team is ready to let the kids take over.

I think a lot of people overlook the role of the agent in these types of scenarios.

That white jersey is a breath of fresh air, and ggunk's chant is like the warm sunshine beating down on me.

I've got tickets for the 3rd row behind the Leafs net.

I'm glad Group A has Laughton and Cousins, I want to see them more than anybody to see how NHL-ready they are.

It was nice to see him come back, and he played OK, but right now he's not a great fit for what they need on the third line. I wasn't closed minded to him returning, but he wasn't really an ideal fit.

Apparently, Kacie McDonnell sees the Eagles taking the Cup this season.

Who do you think on the current roster will fit into the role on third line wing?

Gagne may not be ideal in that spot but I'm not sure they have a youngster who will be better.

I hope Laughton shines and takes the roster spot, I guess if he's not ready McGinn is my next choice.

Raffle and Straka and Akeson seem to be a stretch to make the team.

i wanted gagne back but oh well.

i like mcginn in his brief call-up but imo one could see after the first several games he was hitting a wall
maybe this year he's ready for it. even if laughton makes the team i'm sure there will be catastrophic injuries resulting in mcginn getting his chance.

I'm ready to move on from Gagne, and see what the young players can bring.
I hope Couts has decent wingers to play with this season.

On Mez, I'm hoping he sticks around for a healthy year, but expect he'll be traded and likely for a less then exciting return.

Laughton has a good mix of grit and skill, although he might not be fully ready for the job. McGinn has the grit, but I'm not sure of his two way play. Akeson is probably not a good choice, because he's strictly an offensive guy and Straka probably is the least ready of the group fr NHL work.

Raffl's a wild card, it's a big jump, but from everything I have heard, the Flyers feel he could be ready to make the jump.

I would have preferred Schenn to be in the same group as Vinny. With this lineup, it looks like Schenn will be forced to play center.
- PhillySportsGuy

Schenn should brush up on center as Vinny is about to drop the "i signed here to play on giroux's wing" bombshell
