Sustr will replace Salo next season after he retires I see him playing in the AHL 1 full season this year. - todd1a
i dont disagree that he'll probably see time next season, but i doubt he steps into that large of a role right away. he's more of a puck mover anyway than the shut down D man we desperately need and wouldnt be a good replacement for Salo.
at some point, you have to imagine some of this young talent being traded to address other needs |

Yes I could see yzerman sending a young forward for a up coming defenseman at the trade deadline. The lighnting have so many forwards coming they are going to need to move one or two out to fill up the defense. |

Korobov is much better suited for the shutdown roll. |

Nice read Michael! I aways enjoy you're stuff when I get a chance to read it. I think Drouin almost need to be on this team and that there is only a slight chance he isn't. There just nothing left for him to do in Jr he outscored Nate by how many points ? He needs to make the team and I have no doubt he won't. In my eyes he could EASILY be the best player that comes out of this draft when it is all said and done 20 years from now. |

i agree with this. im actually a little surprised he didnt go first overall. is it his size? Mackinnon only has 1 inch in height and what was about 4-5 lbs at draft time on him. over the summer i remember reading that drouin was already up to 186. whats that 1 inch really matter? |

A lot of it came down to franchise winger vs franchise center and if that dangling stuff could be translated to the NHL level as there is really only one current NHL who has hands like him and that is P. Kane. Drouin was my favorite prospect though and I think he is the most talented player in this draft but he isn't the most certain. I think he turns into a 80-90 point player I want to say 100 point but I don't want to yet that is entering top 3 in the league (potential is there for sure though). |

Because I enjoy reading the work of others that means I have a man-crush? Come on, Arty. I know you're better than this. |

I think he's a good writer. Honestly, most of the Lightning writers I've read are good writers. I don't 'avoid' anyone's work. |

I avoid homers in every way shape and form. That's why I read you. You're not a homer, you're not a hack. I may not agree with you, but at least your honest. |

I try not to be a homer, but I assure you that I get visibly upset when the team loses |

A homer ALWAYS blames outside forces and not the team for a loss, you don't. Your not a homer when it comes to the team. |
