Hall is the #1 LW in the game, because of his speed... When you're that good at a position, I don't want to frig around and test him out somewhere else... Hall will not be as effective at C, because he'd have to slow his game down... Hall is speed. Speed is Hall. If I were testing anyone out at C, it would have been Eberle.

The funniest part was when he gave Smyth the puck on a breakout. Hall got the pass from the D, Smyth blew the zone, got the pass and Hall still beat Smyth to the opposing blue line.

Musil is so slow I think Smyth is actually faster.

I was really impressed with Davidson's game. He was steady, made good passes and moved well enough for someone his size.

I felt bad for O Roy.

Hemsky probably has the shoulder flu

Nurse looked okay. Nothing special, nothing horrible but thats good from a Dman playing his first "pro" (word used in the lightest sense possible) game.

I didn't like Ference's game. He looked to be making passes to set plays that the Oilers weren't running. Either because its a bunch of plugs out there too or he's still in Boston mode. I'm sure he'll work that out though.

Garbagekov was so bad ohmilord.

I thought Hall was pretty effective at centre. He seemed to play positionally well and had a number of good reads through the middle of the ice defensively. Also liked his zone entries when he would break out with Yakupov or Hemsky versus Smyth because those 2 could actually beat him to the blueline and he could drive wide for a chip pass or pick up a drop pass.

btw, the first goal never went in. They showed it like 5 times on the big screen and not on a single one did it cross the line.

Yakupov is so absurdly good with his edges. Its insane.

I thought Arcobello actually played quite well too.

#1 I honestly couldn't believe it. Hall was gunning up the ice and totally pulled up to basically standing perfectly upright because Smyth going at full bore was too slow.

#2 Yak's edges are so good. And so is his release. Much like Kovalchuk but I don't know if Yak will be able to run an entire game the way Kovalchuk could. Not many players ever get to that level.

Honestly, Smyth's skating reminds me of that South Park episode wehre the boys are running from some demon hell monster thing (maybe it was the grim reaper) and Kenny, Kyle and Stan are just gunning it down the street while Cartman is bringing up the rear by like a block.
