The Islanders could probably use him.. - Gusto
We're overloaded with forwards...so no we dont have use for him. Even if the Isles signed him, theres so much talent up front he might wind up being a healthy scratch. |

Petro signs for around where Blues fans predicted, just as Shatty did... where are all the people saying Blues couldn't afford to keep their players again? - Antilles
I didn't say they couldn't. I said it would be difficult. AP came in around where we all thought. Discounts on Stewart, Berg and Shatty from what most of us thought they would get. They did have to lose Perron to make it work though.
Overall a good job this summer by Armstrong. |

They lost Perron to sign Roy. People were claiming Blues would lose RFA's before even signing Roy. |

trade maybe. they've already paid 27 of his 110 million, all of a sudden you've got shea for 13 years, 83 million. next year 12 for 69. For an internal cap team that becomes a prize contract as long as he can play near his cap hit. |

If you thought that they got Stewart, Berglund, and Shattenkirk on discount, you haven't been watching St. Louis Blues hockey. Stewart is streaky as hell. You wanna pay him $6m a year to play for the Oilers?! Go on ahead. Berglund? He hasn't proven poop in the NHL. Shattenkirk plays against second pairing forwards and doesn't play 30 minutes a game consistently. I'm not saying he can't. Sign him to an offer sheet and try him out... Oh, wait . . . you're team didn't...
Armstrong has a deep talent pool. He doesn't have to cave to players. Petro signed for what he's worth. All these other guys ('cepting Shatty) got fair value. It's not my fault your team decided that there was a deal to be had... |

Wow, spoken like a fan of a team who got buggered in a deal that gave two potential NHL all stars for one player who is a top four D. |

I really hope you are not that stupid. Do you really think the Preds would dump all that cash into a front loaded contract then buy him out? Team plans and wants to have him for years as face of the franchise.
Worst case scenario the team trades him at some point down the road if the relationship goes to hell. They did not give him a NTC when they matched the Flyer offer. Feeling here is injuries killed team last year and a healthy Rinne returns them to the playoffs. Stealing Jones was a bonus for a down year in a shortened schedule. |

Philly doesn't toy around with its players. - jmatchett383
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I mean... signing players for 7-8 year contracts (Richards, Carter) with NTCs and then trading them before the NTC kicks in, or forcing players with existing NTCs (Gagne) to waive them for a trade. And then re-acquiring the same player and asking him to wait until some cap space opens up so they can sign him to a hometown discount he agreed to... only to tell him to go suck an egg right before the season starts.
You're right. The Flyers management team never toys with players.
Although, I guess in hindsight they did Richards, Carter and Gagne a favor. |

Hope he lands on his feet and has a solid role on a team in need. Could see him going to Montreal - Trainfellow
You got to think with the lack of depth in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver that one of them would sign him for a year. Not one of those teams has a solid third line. |

Ryan Kesler doesn’t think the Vancouver Canucks are on the decline. In fact, he swears they’re not. (Three times, by our count.)
“To be honest, I don’t listen to that sh*t,” said Kesler Friday, per The Province.
“That’s what it is. It’s sh*t. We believe in ourselves in the dressing room. All those negative comments we’re not even going to…
“To be honest, I shouldn’t have even answered that question. It’s sh*t.”
I always knew Kesler was full of sh*t |
