I wouldn't read too much into the lines/pairings, either way that 4C position will be a good battle between Horak, Knight and Reinhart. I'd like to see Horak stay up with the big club.

Knight was by far the best of the 3 in this first game. Really noticeable out there in a good way.

Overall tempo was fantastic in the first game... really high speed and high pressure.

Glencross won't be going anywhere...he has a no trade and doesn't want to waive because he loves the city (roots in alberta, rodeo stuff ect.) I would never even ask him, rather have a guy like that on the team then some clown you have to beg (overpay) to come to Calgary

I don't see GlenX being moved anytime soon if at all. Maybe at the deadline for a bubble team or a team looking to shore up for the playoffs (which won't be us).

Hey Colin, whats your opinion on Phaneuf? Will he get moved this year or do you see him getting extended?

- geta02it

Pretty sure he was reffering to the open captaincy.

What about as a captain option?

I mentioned co-captains above until someone shows leadership... he'd be one...

yeah sorry should have quoted...it came up earlier in the thread...and seems to come up in every Flames thread. Last year he told the team "don't bother asking because I ain't waiving" And when asked if he was scared at the deadline he said "no because I would never waive so I'm not going anywhere"

obviously anything is possible I just don't see it from either side

Give Gio the C and Cammy, Glencross can wear A's

What about the 3rd line? Do you have Cammi pencilled in as a C along with Staj and Backs?

Halfway through game 2...

It's 1-0 for team red off a scramble goal by Hanowski. Ramo's looked good in this one and had the first 2 before it was shoveled past him. Berra's solid at the other end. Baertschi and Granlund have both stood out offensively for team black. Cundari, Russell, and Ramage all look really good on the back end. They're going to make it tough on the coaching staff...

Stajan might be the best player on the ice in this one... he's playing with tons of confidence.

No....you're right.

Centers will be

1. Backlund
2. Stajan

Spots 3-4 will be a battle between: Reinhart, Horak, Knight, Monohan, Granlund and Blair Jones. I also know they talked about Galiardi up the middle as well!

Game 2 ends 2-0.

Berra had a shutout, Ramo and Brossoit split the other end of the ice and each allowed 1 goal. All 3 goaltenders played really well.

Bouma was strong all game. Baertschi and Galliardi look great on a line together. Granlund continues to look strong.

The surprise of the day to me was the effectiveness of the Hanowski, Nemisz, Blair Jones line. They consistently carried play and contributed 2 goals for the Red squad between the 2 games. Creating opportunities through hard work, a strong cycle and traffic in front.

I'm excited to see how all 3 squads fare again tomorrow.

I disagree, I think Gio has been steady and has the professionalism and work ethic that is required by a captain. Sure hes struggled a little of late, but who hasnt from the group? This is Hartleys first full training camp with the team, it will pay dividends in comparison to last year
- Colin Dambrauskas

But if they name Gio captain and he fails to find a place in Hartley's system then it puts the flames in the difficult position. With the goal of naming Gio captain that he will teach these kids that hard work and perseverance pays off I think it could backfire if hes not being utilized effectively. I would advise the flames to hold off on naming a captain until one of the leaders in the room is proven effective.
