@HeleneStJames And here we go: Per Daniel Cleary "Flying to Traverse. I'm back. Signing tonight." #RedWings

Are they giving any indication why the change of direction?

They have size and grit on line 1, 2, and 4. Why do we need it on 3rd line?

Line 1
Hartnell- Size and Grit
Voracek- Size

Line 2
Lecavalier- Size and ocasional grit
Simmonds- Size and Grit
Schenn- Some Grit

Line 3
If talbot playes here he as grit

Line 4
Hall- Grit
Rinaldo- Grit
Rosehill- Size Grit

I think we are covered. I think I wouldnt mind a smaller 3rd line that can out score other team's 3rd lines by like 3-1 ratios. Gagne and Read as 3rd liners.... I like it. Cant think of a better 3rd line.

Soooooooooooooooooo your saying we have some Grit on this team

You were fine with Cleary on the 3rd line with Read on the other Wing. Talbot brings just as much grit, if not more, then Cleary does. And Talbot is 5 years younger. It's a blessing in disguise that Cleary decided to go to the Wings.
- MJL

Agreed. I'm over it already.

Cleary listed on the roster, and players wearing jerseys without names/numbers.....

I wonder if there are clowns, and jugglers present at the Wach for fan entertainment as well...

I now look forward to everyone killing Homer yesterday for a nonexistent deal to rescind their comments.

I know. I don't have an issue with Talbot on the third line.
- PLindbergh31

Kind of what we got Talbot for, no?

There's grit, but they could be stand to be grittier. They're at like 120 grit, it's way too coarse. We need some of that fine 300 stuff.

Seriously? They didn't even bother putting numbers on the jerseys for a fan invited open practice? Well that will up the enjoyment level of the casual fan who went down with someone.

Hearing some unconfirmed reports that Cleary doesn't think the Flyers understand how the salary cap works...

He still made the deal so your argument is invalid. The complainers will complain and now they can complain about how he couldn't get the deal signed even though they didn't want Cleary.

By the way, where's MIII playing this year? Same place? Is he a peewee?

Ummmmm... anybody want to rail on for three pages and correct Bill about how he doesn't understand the salary cap or he wouldn't state that the Flyers are over it because they aren't.

- mayorofangrytown

Technically Bill is incorrect in stating that. If you want to discuss it some more, that's fine.

Do you expect the Flyers to carry 10 defenseman on the roster?

I'm sure the casual fan's traveling companion will up their enjoyment level thru instruction. I guess the question is how to up yours?

No, didn't you hear? Cleary may be signing a one year deal with the team he openly stated he preferred to stay with all along. Obviously that means the Flyers are somehow stupid, or have been tricked, or are stupid.

I think that Talbot is an ideal 3rd line Winger.
- MJL

I would prefer a bigger player who could create space for Read and Couturier. Someone like Stalberg.

But the figures that you're looking at that makes you beleive that the Flyers are over the Cap, has Cap hits for 10 defenseman in the calculation. Not to mention 25 players, when the roster limit is 23.

Detroit's where he wanted to play; no big deal. Like someone said, I'm over it already -- can only worry about so much on any given day, and a guy who isn't here isn't one of them.

Stalberg isn't going to create more space for anyone. Stalberg is not a very physical player.
