This is how I feel. They tried to get every drop of "winning" out of the last core of players......hard to blame them for that. Exactly right, you can blame the Rooney's for Haley. He's basically neutered their best player. Makes no sense at all. They're certainly not superbowl caliber or even playoff worthy. Might as well lose bad and get plenty of high picks. - madmike71
That's what ticks me off the most. You cater to Ben's strengths which is throwing downfield not little five yard passes. Granted Mike Wallace was a malcontent last season and quit on the team but there is another case where Wallace's strength was deep passes and not five yard outs. He misused him as well. A coach should look at his team and see what they do the best. He shouldn't diminish them to his own agenda.
The sooner they get rid of Haley the better. |

Yeah...
Shero sort of owes Rutherford for the Staal deal and even the Jokinen deal. Help them out with Niskanen for a 4th rounder and a crappy AHL depth player. |

Not exactly sure why, but it appears as if there is some complication between Daniel Cleary and PHI. Told he will not be joining Flyers. |

Well, it’s now obvious the exact moment Ron Hextall took over the Philadelphia Flyers GM position. |

honestly, id say load up on draft picks for the deadline, or for some new forward prospects. if kennedy could land a 2nd, nisk can land a 2nd |

Shero is going to have to start addressing the forward position in the pipeline at some point right? I know we are blessed with a lot of talent on the big club but it won't be here forever. |

I was just wondering the confidence level of fans in Bylsma's coaching. Are there any clear Bylsma supporters still out there? |

I don't know... Sid, Malkin, Neal and Bennett are all here and will be top 6 players for at least the next handful of years. At some point Kunitz and/or Dupuis will need to be replaced, but that is only one or two spots to fill, and Shero has proven to be able to acquire those type of guys repeatedly. He lucked out on Dupuis, but none of Kunitz, Neal, Fedotenko, Guerin or Sykora were homegrown, and they've all filled top 6 roles at times.
Maybe you get one surprise player who's already in the pipeline (Kuhnhackl, Zlobin, Sundqvist, Teddy Blueger etc), that clicks with Crosby or Malkin, and the top 6 keep rolling.

Bylsma made some interesting comments recently about changing some things with how they attack through the neutral zone. Also made further comments about adjusting some of their defensive schemes.
We'll see...
To me, he's a little like MAF. Great regular season. Post season (when a series dictates quick adjustments), not so much. |

Yea but you are also seeing how helpful it can be to have a top 6 player (Bennet) on a rookie contract. |

My biggest beef with him is his lack of adjustments. Not just in game adjustments but prior to a series to expose a weakness. He says we are going to get to our game regardless of how that plays against any given opponent. He and Tomlin are comparable in that sense. I chalk it up to inexperience and it's part of the learning process. If he doesn't learn over the next few seasons well then we have an issue. Both coaches were spoiled with a ton of success early on which attributes to them being hard headed. |
