He's the only one left from the Legion that doesn't look like he added 40 lbs

All the Flyers pretty much have to do is play a paper shell game, and use LTIR. Only downside is they won't bank any Cap space, and if Schenn or Couturier explode. Risk of Cap penalties towards next Season.
- MJL

Bodiva reported that Holmgren said Pronger's exemption was going to be used ASAP, even prior to the Cleary news, so that downside was expected.

We've wasted a hells a load of our time and brain power. If we had just pooled that time and used it to do something remarkable with our lives, think what we could have accomplished... like a life sized legos Tower of Orthanc.

I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories... The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think... I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo is a wuss. All he did was whine, complain, get speared by a troll (which didn't really happen), try to befriend a guy who ended up biting off his finger, get rid of his best friend, get captured by a horde of orcs, and give in to temptation. Sam was the real hero of the story, the one who had to literally carry him to end his quest and saved his ass (and the world's ass, by taking the ring).

Isn't Meszaros injury recurring as well? I think that's a factor.
- BulliesPhan87

Achilles ruptures are probably not classified as recurring. After surgery, only 4% chance of a re-rupture. He probably has a greater chance of rupturing the other one. But, I'm sure strengthening and stretching is a daily routine and should limit it from happening again.

Yes, but the possibility of getting out of using LTIR, and banking Cap space at some point in the Season, won't happen with the Cleary signing. Unless they make a trade at some point.

Eh.

It's not the number of "boxes of ziti" that he was given.

It's the spot in the lineup he's taking and pushing guys down the depth chart that didn't need to be pushed down.

Frankly, I'm just going with it at this point. I'd like to see if he even passes the physical first, considering I've heard his knees are weaker than the drinks you get at the Bud Light Zone at the arena.

Coburn's an easier move and his name has been coming up in Edmonton since May. Just yesterday he was linked to Florida and Edmonton. They're saying Holmgren's expected return is currently too high for those teams to bite but that as camp comes to a close he might be forced to use that option to get cap compliant.
- mayorofangrytown

Edmonton has a pretty good and deep defensive prospects pool. I'd be nice to grab Oscar Klefbom or Darnell Nurse... Probably who Homer wants. But, I wouldn't be upset if it was a pick and either; Martin Marincin, David Musil, or Martin Gernat.
