It will be hard to do that from Oshawa

If he doesn't make it I will literally write angry messages until I get slightly bored and decide to do something else

I was being facetious, my Commie friend!

That being said, I really wanna know what time he'll take to the ice. I'm skipping biochem and Pharm Calculations to go to camp on Friday. I'll roll in at like noon after Physio

If Cleary does sign, it's best for him to go back.

Maybe, tbh I wouldn't mind whichever way it went. In a lot of ways I'd like to see him stick in the NHL, cause he's like the Flyers baby, so he's naturally lovable by fans. Also, he'd probably supply more offense than Hall. On the other hand, I look at Detroit. The reason they are the most successful late-round drafting team in the league isn't just cause they have a great scouting team. It's cause they really give their prospects all the time in the world to come along at the proper pace. It makes a pretty big effect to baby them up to the big league. I'd like to see us do that a bit more.

He's on there now, last forward in Group B.

Just a few names above Tony Orlando.

I can see him making the team but this signing would suggest to me they'll keep him here as long as possible but end up sending him back. He'll be a strong candidate to be captain of Oshawa (even though they will have a much younger team this season.)

He'll get plenty of minutes in all situations & that can't be viewed as a bad thing.

Question on Waivers. if the Flyers waive Gervais and Carolina claims him, he's gonzo, right?

Personally, I cannot believe people are still holding out hope Laughton makes the team after the Cleary signing. Or Cleary phantom signing, which ever way you'd like to go.

Can Laughton beat out Matt Read, Sean Couturier, Dan Cleary, Max Talbot, Zac Rinaldo or Jay Rosehill or do we keep him just because his ticket's free in the best spot in the house to watch the games and has potential to be the Flyers newest and best fan because he'll never miss watching a game?
- dingo8urbaby

Why does he have to beat those players out? All he has to do is be one of the best 13 or 14 forwards. Depending on how many Forwards the Flyers keep.

He only has to beat Adam Hall.

To answer you yes Laughton can kill penalties as he has done it very well with Oshawa like with faceoffs winning over 60% of them. Grant it those are not in the NHL.

The only negative for Laughton will be finishing his 4 game OHL suspension (3 games left, he served 1 during the last playoff game Oshawa played)

He'll be given every chance & I still think he can make it but again should the Cleary signing happen, I don't see the need to keep him here.

If Cleary is signed, the issue really becomes playing time for Laughton. One thing I don't want to see is him spend the majority of the Season on the Flyers as a healthy scratch.

I don't really see a correlation. Laughton was always making the team to play the 4th line. Clearly signing means gagne Isnt here, and to a lesser extent spells possible trouble for McGinn

Hall is our 12th forward. If he fits into the depth chart as the 13th forward it'd be hard to imagine that they keep him in the NHL.

And neither do I, I felt he has a really serious shot to make the roster & contribute. But if Cleary is signed that changes & now I see that chance being very slim.

No, he was going to get a long look, he was never a lock to make it.

Cleary, should he end up as a Flyer, means that Talbot moves to the 4th line with Rinaldo and probably Adam Hall

Especially if they feel the need to keep Rosehill as the enforcer.
