If Franson was sitting at home nursing a concussion and Nonis was Burke, then yes, 3.8 over 4 years - in and around thereabouts.

There are some PMD's in development who should be close for sure, so I could see that, but I wouldn't mind seeing what Franson could do this year. Franson needs to understand that he needs to play and he has zero leverage on a max capped team. Sitting will do Franson little good.

I agree that this year is a bit different because none of our developing D are ready, but that will change soon. I think our D is going to look crazy different after a couple more years.
As I said, Franson would be good to have for this season, but not needed for the long run. Therefore, move him at the deadline

well i asked before here about what keeps him as a RFA, and people were saying a 1 year deal will keep him RFA. Anything 2 and over would leave him as a UFA. Whatever keeps him an RFA, will be the better deal

One man can only do so much. It does show how media savvy he is though - a good fit for this hockey market in that respect.
