Didn't hurt Reimer from putting up numbers.

Any word on wether price got new pads?

I just read this propaganda peice on tsn.

Franson saw his role grow and grow last season, from under 14 minutes in January to upwards of 22 in April, and the now 26-year-old delivered, finishing amongst the leaders at his position in scoring. In addition to his increased responsibility, which included first duty power-play, Franson also showed more assertiveness defensively, with prodding from Carlyle paying dividends. A breakthrough 2013 continued in the postseason, with the B.C. native and unsigned restricted free agent adding three goals and six points in nearly 23 minutes against the Bruins. He and Gardiner teamed together in the final three games of the first round against Boston – with Fraser sidelined – and proved Toronto's most effective pair, a preview perhaps of what Carlyle may opt for this season.

Franson is a top 4 D on this team. I dont care how you cut it or opinions. Franson is one of our top 4 D period.

I Hope he is here for a long time, but everyone has their own opinion.

I was told he is a 5/6 .... Jake Gardiner who has 1/3 career games, 1/3 career points is a lock in the top 4.... Franson has not proven anything...Gardiner has

You mean, the year he Quick won the cup?
- Pecafan Fan

Bernier deserves more credit than Quick.

As we all know, healthy competition amongst goalies spurs both guys on to greater heights.

I'm pretty sure Bernier won the Conn Smythe that year.

I don't disagree with this. I like franson and think he'd do well with more mins. but He was used as #5 last year. its time to give him more repsonsiblitity and see what he does with it.

I agree, Franson, Gardiner and Reilly are your future.

Get that boy signed. Seems like every dmen out of the Nashville system is destined for greatness, they just all leave for greener pastures. Sutter, Hamhuis, Franson, and Weber tried to leave.

Get in line for when Jones wants to leave.

I think you are mistaking where he played last season for what your opinion of his skill is at this point. He did in fact play bottom pairing last season and had amongst the lowest QOC of our D.

Why? Wasn't that the reason given why he went into the tank last year?

Franson's problem is pairing.

Phaneuf is #1. He needs a steady guy with him (yeah, I know, I'm not sure who that is).

So Gardiner can't play with Phaneuf. I think we can all agree on that.

But Gardiner is the golden boy. No way management pushes him back to 3rd pairing.

You want Gardiner and Franson together?

Or Gardiner and Liles together, for that matter?

It's a heckuva jigsaw puzzle.

I don't think so, He likes stiff pads and is known to go through a bunch of pads a year. Every other week is an exageration of course it is more 3 or 4 sets per year.

He was breaking in a new set for the playoffs, maybe some habtards used that as an excuse.

So do, based on last 3 games of the bruin series. Personally I think ranger and Fraser are the other side for gardiner and franson. It's just a matter of who with who. Do you keep franson Fraser together and put gardiner and ranger together?

I think people get locked into these top 6, bottom 6, top 4, bottom 2 minsets and thats all that matters... He needs to start seeing some tougher assignments now...
