So, of the guys who have been sitting in the AHL/minor leagues for some time, who needs to have the best camp?

I'd say this is pretty much make or break for Ashton and Biggs. Not that either are over-the-hill by any stretch, but they need to catch somebody's eye very quickly.

Colborne is another obvious candidate.

This is his 1st camp ... and he went back to Jr last yr. He just turned 20 in the spring.

Blacker needs to put up a good showing... needs to get some NHL games this year. Too many young guys coming to Marlies who will take his minutes if he's not sharp.

Plus he's better overall and has higher ceiling than Holzer.

Blacker had 2 excellent camps as 18/19 yr old, then got pushed aside for Gardiner.

Colborne for sure, and here's hoping that if Kadri does hold out for a few days Colborne gets a shot at the 2C role.. he really hasn't had a chance of any length to play with top 6 NHLers to date.

Ashton would seem like the obvious candidate, older and having been in the AHL for a few seasons... he might be part of a package helping Liles to relocate to Calgary.

I don't see the "need" for Biggs or Broll to make it this camp. Do they need to show well, absolutely. This will be Biggs first camp as a pro I believe, first year out of junior... and power forward types tend to develop slowly.

The guy I want to see is Devane... 'cause for a guy with his size and truculence, he can really skate.
