Yep $3mil is enough for Franson..If he wants more than that he can sit..Leafs have D-men in the system who can come up..
- Fruitcakenipple

Give Franson a 6 year $24/25m deal with him making $3m this season...

How the F do u know they not ready??..U wont find out until given a chance..

I'm pretty sure one of Percy/Blacker/Holzer could be the 5-6 guy for the leafs..

Well than he can have 3mil a season for 3yrs...
- Fruitcakenipple

no way he signs 3 years and gives up a year of UFA eligibility for $3 million IMO.

Holzer sucks. Blacker might be.
Still wont replace what Franson brings to the table.

So capgeek seems to have 300k in bonuses marked down for the leafs this year. Seems to increase their space not reduce. Which seems weird to me. Anyone know how that works? Seems to create enough space. If Franson agrees to say 2.5. Raymond 750k and holzer and smith go down. Means a 22 man roster with one extra forward and 1 extra D.

Seems actually possible.

And best of all it means we get to keep Liles. I was really worried about losing him. :-)

- D.Lemieux

should be transparent now that there are no signficant cap issues. worst case scenario appears to be that we lose holzer on a waiver claim.

Keep up...he was referring to those in the system.
Yes Holzer is an awesome replacement for Franson.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing what Ranger will do.

They can use the 300k this year. If those bonuses are met then they get tacked on next year.

Ok thx so that gives them just under 3.3 M left with holzer and smith in ahl.

Franson gets a 1 year deal at mid 2's and if he plays well next year he gets the term he wants at the 4 he is looking for. Suck it up for 1 more year Franson.

Should we as fans organize some kind of fundraiser for him to help him in this tough time. ?

Man I would love to be only be making 2.5 M this year.
