No interest in trading Talbot. Signed to a great deal, can play on the 4th line at even strength to start, while also playing a large PK role.

Can move up to the 3rd line if one gets hurt, or if Read move up to the top-6.

Can fill in as 4th line center if Hall goes down.

Talbot is vital in many ways if Laughton doesn't make the team.

If he has to retire at some point during the contract, he retires. No penalties. No worries.

I guess I'm kind of in the middle on the Cleary signing. Don't love it, don't hate it. I'd rather have seen the Flyers use a roster spot for one of the kids, to see what they have there. Rather then commit to a 3 year deal with a 34 year old player.

This is kinda how I feel about the signing.

Getting a guy like Cleary at that price and term is not something I was clamoring to see.

I still think that there is possibly another shoe to drop.

Dude.. the last time the Islanders were relevant there was some guy by the name of Mike Bossy scoring goals. Remember that.

I don't get it. He didn't use money to blow up the team.

In the past, Homer has seemed to keep players like Gagne waiting, seemingly asking them to wait while he deals with cap issues. When guys like Carle or Knuble split, Homer gets all, "but I asked them to wait". But then when guys like Gags do wait around they get passed over, what does that do to Homer's Credibility and "Handshake deals".

I don't want to get it.

It involves two things I really like (The Flyers and Breaking Bad), so I'm on board with it, whatever it means.

Exactly! It was said over the Summer by many, that there was a handshake deal in place with Gagne. That obviously wasn't the case. And I doubt that Holmgren promised Gagne anything other then they'd revisit it at training camp time.

Ray Emery. He's the only guy that will make any saves this season.

Calling it now: Chewbacca will get playing time this year. If for nothing more to appease the GM suite haunted by the ghost of Bob Clarke, who played for the same Flin Flon Bombers as Chewbacca.

Don't worry about it. He's out of this world ecstatic because his team lost in 6 games in the first round, no less, to the team we beat the year prior. His opinion is irrelevant.
