Going through the waiver trash heap is always so beneficial.

That's what Gillis does. He liked the movie Moneyball.

for the most part, that strategy would do ok, as long as you're only doing it for guys that are only part of the team to move up the lines if theres an injury...that should not mean that he is supposed to allow the top 2 lines to be softer than melted butter in terms of physicality

Any Idea where Todd is based? While it would be nice to have a blogger that is actually based in Vancouver, Ian does an exceptional job stimulating Vancouver Canucks hockey discussions on a daily basis.

The downside of that is he also attracts a boatload of trolls on a daily basis as well

- Chest Rockwell

I like Ians blogs. He has an opinion instead of just reciting numbers that some bloggers do (not a reference to Todd.) . He engages in battles ,and says what his feelings are, right or wrong. He usually leaves us a lot to talk/argue/laugh about. He has been here almost daily for a couple of years and is considered one of the guys.

I welcome Todds Blogs, but like most of us here, will remain a friend /reader of Ian first.

I don't see what's wrong with trolls. Trolls are fun. I think people take trolling too seriously.

The best way to deal with trolls is ignore them. The guys on the Hawk's thread do this perfectly. Totally ignore any comment that appears to be trollish.

The troll needs someone else to engage. Don't engage, no troll. Simple.

Saying that, it would have been an absolutely boring summer on this site if it wasn't for the trolls. So I say...

LONG LIVE THE TROLLS!

- bloatedmosquito

I agree with you. It would be boring as crap if there were no discussions or disagreeing. If someone just comes in and saysa team sucks it is different.

Iggybff just said if pigs fly out of Gillis's ass , which is a fair comment and can be discussed .I like the disagreeing.

Jensen has a big league shot and he's been a goal scorer at every level.
- golfingsince

Agreed.

Even put up decent assist totals in JR.

Really important year for his development, whether he spends the majority of his time with the big club, or in the AHL.

I really hope he's able to take that next step and earn a spot with the Canucks!

Interesting article by Canucks Army on the scrimmage vs the Canucks and Oilers;

http://canucksarmy.com/20...eview-young-stars-edition

I'm not usually a fan of the stuff from Canucks Army, but this particular article was written by a writer for Jets Nation, so it's an interesting outsider's perspective.

Very positive comments about Jensen's physical play.

He also got some comments from Travis Green, the Comet's coach.

I've been impressed with his overall play in both the offensive and defensive zones.

I did see the occasional turnover in the neutral and offensive zone that seemed like he was trying to do a bit too much with the puck, but that's a pretty regular mistake for a lot of players in this type of tournament.

He'll have to impress quite a bit to earn a spot right out of camp, though—they'll likely want to give Booth every shot at winning a top 6 spot.

Gotta think he'll be one of the first call ups, especially if it's for the top6.

Either way, Jensen will be an interesting player to watch whatever league he starts in.

Just remember who called it like 6 months ago when he does. If he doesn't. I will use fancy Jedi words to deflect the issue and you will be satisfied by that. Right?[/URL]

That explains why we aren't winning.

Maybe the Canucks need to get on the juice. A's won one I believe with Big Mac and Juiso Canseco

I'm not sold on Erikson from watching this tourney. He made some good saves but he was fighting the puck the whole time. Strong position is the only thing that helped him do so well. Is his first name like the Swedish version of Joaquin?

In his defence, he hadn't played a real game in 4-to-5 months. Goalies ish ally take a month or so of game action before they find a rythum

You have been watching Luongo in October for to long. Look at the Calgary's Joni Ortio the kid was awesome. Though you are right about 4 to 5 months off it could be just a little rust.

The blogger has a massive amount to do with the trolls. We complained enough that we finally got rid of Cloutier and the number of trolls is waaaayyy down on the Oiler threads. And if you check since GARTH got a back seat on the site his posts and trolls are way down as well. Ian attracts trolls. Get him to change if you don't want as many.

One lucky game as far as I'm concerned. Watch how good he looks at camp and get back to me.
