I don't see what's wrong with trolls. Trolls are fun. I think people take trolling too seriously.

The best way to deal with trolls is ignore them. The guys on the Hawk's thread do this perfectly. Totally ignore any comment that appears to be trollish.

The troll needs someone else to engage. Don't engage, no troll. Simple.

Saying that, it would have been an absolutely boring summer on this site if it wasn't for the trolls. So I say...

LONG LIVE THE TROLLS!

- bloatedmosquito

Fair enough. Sometimes I'm in the mood for them ( like today, for example ) and other times I just stay away.

what are peoples expectations for Schroeder this year?
- JohnDwyer

I think he wins a full time spot on the roster and puts up 30ish points.

Thought he looked great at times last season, and deserved more minutes.

All hinges on whether his shoulder is healthy enough to win a spot out of camp. Since he's no longer waiver eligible, my guess is he finishes where he starts; although, he could start in the AHL on a rehab stint and then come up, if those still exist in the new CBA.

Strange focus to this piece, given that the purpose of the rookie tournament isn't to track statistics or self-declare a winner - it's to give a range of prospects a chance to showcase where their game development is at in relation to other prospects, potential depth players, and the team's expectations of them. In that sense, I'm not sure using statistics to gloss over things like numerous bad goals by Eriksson when he should be accustomed to a significantly higher level of competition is really much of a conclusion.

Corrado - the most consistent and NHL-ready player on the roster
Eriksson - needs to sharpen up, as he won't have the same roster talent advantage going forward
Gaunce - his game is not where it should be, but may be physically able to handle spot NHL duty to help develop
Horvat - mature beyond his years, but if they expect a centrepiece player they shouldn't rush him
Jensen - needs to figure out how to convert more shots into goals, or he won't play in the NHL
Shinkaruk - the most dynamic forward in the system, but needs another year or two of maturity and development

Somewhat agree with your assessments.

It would have been nice if Jensen converted a few more, but he was easily the Canucks most effective forward in the tournament, and was solid defensively as well.

No doubt in my mind he's a future NHLer. Just not sure in what capacity.

That's for Jensen to decide, he has the physical tools, does he have the mental tools

You know I read this a lot from fans and never really understood this type of thinking. If fans are afraid of him not succeeding at first when exposed to NHL talent and then getting a complex mentally then the team shouldn't be drafting mentally weak players. What better place for an athlete to develop than with top tier talent so said athlete can get the most out of his talent. Physically, Bo is ready as far as his height and weight. He won't get overmatched physically. Let's see what he can do the first couple weeks of the season.

Players can't develop if they're not getting ice time.

If Horvat isn't able to at least handle 3rd line minutes, he isn't going to get the ice time he needs to develop. I don't think he can contribute enough offensively yet for that role.

I'd much rather see him dominate with valuable experience as captain of the Knights playing 20+ minutes a game, and participate in the Memorial Cup and WJC.

There's no benefit to rushing prospects.

If he doesn't prove he's far and away the best candidate for the job at camp, or in his 9 game trial (if he gets one), he needs to be sent down.

I'd say it's about 80% site 20% me poking certain fan bases every now and then.

Take yesterday as an example. The blog was all about Hansen. Go back and count how much of the conversation was on Hansen. Yesterday had zero to do with anything I wrote.

Not surprisingly, you missed the point of it all.
- LeftCoaster

Whats your point? Blow up the team so that their draftees get into a few games?

Who cares how many games Dallas' prospects play? Their team perpetually sucks and the Canucks are perpetual contenders.......

Main camp tomorrow!!

Any word on Booth's current injury and when he might be available?

- Marwood

He started skating at the very end of August. With his injury he was still able to work out, unlike some other injuries, so he shouldn't be too far behind. I'd expect him available for the full camp. Should be 100% by the start of the regular season, if not sooner (could be already for all I know).

I hope he gets moved as well. He's one real expensive third liner on this team. Hopefully we can get a proven NHL 3LC for him.
- Chest Rockwell

He's an average priced second liner. The team is very unlikely to try and acquire a 3C right now. They'll likely give everyone at camp a shot first.

Botchford was saying that if none of the guys at camp can step up to fill that 3LC hole, the Canucks figure they will be able to pick somebody up off the waives once teams try to get their caps in order for the start of the season.

Well thats what I was thinking... It has nothing to do with what you write, people are known to derail threads no matter what on here...Banning does no good on this site...People just make new accounts and make it quite obvious who they are too, I'm shocked no one has seen Prock on a new name, i'm positive he has one

Yup, If JJ writes a blog that states 2 + 2 = 5, and you go there with a link and proof stating that 2 + 2 = 4, you will get banned, and then called a troll for defying his opinion.

It's as though those guys are being mind fu(ked by HB or JJ or both.

They'll either go that route or see what's available in trade instead of letting them get to free agency. Either way, they're going to likely give this group a shot to fill the position and only go outside if nobody can step up.
