I agree...In terms of goaltending, the Flames are looking like they could be strong in a few years. Given that they've played no one but Kipper in the past 7-8 years, its time to develop some young tenders now.

Problem is that you never know how these new guys are going to turn out. A couple years ago we all thought the oilers were looking good on goalie prospects with Roy and Buns in the system. Neither are coming along the way we expected them to. Could turn out that none of these guys the Flames are hopeful about turn into regular nhlers. Why not bring Timmy in for a year and see what the other guys can do first?

Thats not the point, I see the value is there it is just we have an abundance of D (mind you 5-7 d) so adding 1 more (again all be it top 4 in CGY) would limit the time even more for the youngsters, so I would want a D going back and putting in Elson to help even out the value.

I have been away and actually had to check the Oilers website to see if you have traded for a real goalie. DD is decent goalie, probably better as a well used back up but come on, top 10.

well it hasnt been mentioned al that much either, but the habs have more players signed to 1 way deals than they have roster spots. judging by some of the offseason talent theyve signed i think there could be a few moves from the habs end. id love to see a player like moen, or white or diaz play for the flames. great players, play their roles well and arent over the top. moen for sure could find his place with the flmaes and diaz, could run the 2nd pp line or even the first.

So...I am on the Stepan offer sheet bandwagon, even with the cost. They are 'millions' apart. An offer sheet of similar weight to the ROR one seems like spending 'wisely' vs getting teams leftovers.

Not insane. Im thinking they pick 6 again. Stepan / Monahan/ Knight or Stajan. Darn fine spine for the immediate future. Let backs play until tdl...trade him for a pick in the 1st if he has a good season while monahan is in the ohl. Trade gio or cammi for another 1st. Hasten the rebuild.
