NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will release their official 2023 temperature numbers on Jan. 12, but all data so far indicates 2023 was the hottest on record globally.

Tom Di Liberto, climate scientist and public affairs specialist with NOAA, said when El Niño events straddle two years, it is typically the second year that ends up being hotter, indicating a strong possibility that temperatures could increase again in 2024. A recent example was 2016, the previous hottest year on record following El Niño.

for some reason everyone is making a real big deal out of the weather today. i figured there was snow or ice coming. it's just a lot of rain. it happens all the time. people are driving like it's fire falling from the sky. it's water, everybody. just like the last time it rained a couple days ago.

they started the scar tactics last week with a 9-15 estimate. grocery stores were getting hammered. something i never understood. this isn't the 60's FFS. the street are cleared the next day at the latest. there are (frank)ing convenience/gas stations in abundance.

we got some wet poop overnight. some rain earlier and big (frank)ing flakes recently.
