NHL 94, and stop being a hater.
- Leafland

Not a hater by any means. Cripes, I waste my money on COD and The Show. Just terrible that they charge $60 for an updated roster.

And it was 91 for the first NHL on the Genesis.

I lived in T.O. for 15 years when the Wings were always a powerhouse. One of my buds up there is a huge Wings fan. He has been rubbing it in for ages! My turn is coming very soon!!!

- habman75

Yes & the tide is finally turning. The Wings, so awesome for so long, the Leafs so bad for so long, looks like things are gonna reverse in the very near future.

Added some more cool stuff, new fighting engine, new menus and what not.

They added a 94 game mode in this.

Exactly! And the Leafs and Habs are getting competitive at the same time. How long all of us been dreaming of facing off in the playoffs!!! When it happens, cops in both cities are gonna have their hands full...

It has to turn. Teams catch on to what works and it took years for the league to catch up to the Wings style of scouting and drafting. If your not drafting in the bottom part of the draft, then you're less likely to get a blue chip player. Looking at their roster, over the last 20 years, Yzerman was their last great North American draft pick. They've been living on the European angle for the last 15 years. It's just time for them to slip below the waterline and go down and grab a couple of blue chip prospects, so they can rebuild. They are mirroring what's happening to New Jersey, but they're a couple of years behind the curve. Heaven help them, if they lose Datsyuk or Zetterberg to injury long term. The depth just isn't there anymore.

that must have been a glorious night for you.
- scotch_tape

Oh oui, glorieuse...

actually the part I enjoyed most was the scoreboard... and then to think that the Habs players were dumb enough to try the extra stuff was hilarious.

but seemed to do the Habs a favor, the played much better after the beating.

not a single Habs fan would be shocked if the Habs miss the playoffs. team is still transitioning for another year or two at least.

Transitioning to what, exactly?

And I only mean that half-facetiously.

Yes, and I was around to see their last two playoff meetings.......another lifetime ago. It was an awesome time to be a hockey fan. Still remember standing out on Church Street, after the game, to see the 1977/78 Habs, after the game. Unfortunately for the Leafs, the Habs where heads and shoulders above the whole league at the time. 1993 should have happened!

So close to our dream playoff matchup happening last year. Gonna be sweet when it happens.

Anyways, worked all day outside today in 40 degree weather, so I'm spent. Off to bed early as tomorrow is another day in the hot sun. Night all!!!!!!!

I so wish I remembered those glory days! I was only 3 years old...

93, I remember like it was yesterday. What a fantastic feeling! I actually have a bottle opener here that every time you open a beer, you hear the original "And the Canadiens Win the Stanley Cup". I still get shivers.

Ouch, reached a blistering 14 degrees here. One thing I don't miss about T.O. is the humidity... Absolute killer!

to a much younger team led by veterans like Subban, Price, Pacioretty, Eller, Emelin. got some young guys already in the lineup like Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Tinordi, a few others close to making the jump like Beaulieu, Collberg. team has been hoarding picks the last 2 years and will likely pick up a few for next year. just building through the draft. gonna take a few years though. not guaranteed to work but that's the plan. but it's a rebuild that started with some key pieces already in place.

Other than the years Roy could almost win a cup by himself, this is the most exciting time to be a Habs fan that I can remember!

they'll never be brawlers and they'll never try to intimidate. it just won't be their game. but you don't need to brawl your way to a Cup.

well the players they drafted have to work out, so it's still a big if.
