Besides, we need some depth, for when injuries happen. As mentioned, Frattin and MacArthur are gone, so who steps in on nights that we need more speed then brawn? To go far, in the playoffs, we need to have experienced NHL caliber players ready to go at a moments notice.

no bashing from me. Just wish the guy knew how to stay upward. Trust me he has great upside. But he also has tremendous downside, Hence why he hasnt been signed by any team this year
Not trying to seem like a pessamist , simply a realist. Raymond has the skill set to be a 20 goal scorer but his feet are too fast for his body. He needs to learn how to properly skate before he could ever be considered a ligitamet nhl forward.
He has his own website dedicated to him falling over for shyt sakes.
potential talent is absolutely there. Whether he can reach that potentail, Im very standoffish
Regardless. For the most part I loved him in Vancity and wish him the best on his future endevours. - vancity787
I thought the whole idea of the game, according to Vancouver players and fans alike, was for a player to drop like he'd been shot as soon as he was near an opposing player? Who knows what Raymand is or can be? Unless you were a Sedin, a Kesler or a Burrows you weren't given a fair shake with AV. Raymond with Bolland and McClemment would make a crazy good shutdown line.
I'll take Raymond for under 1mil/1-year. I know we already have a cap crunch but I see this as a low risk/high reward temporary depth move. A Leafs signing of Raymond this year is just as likely as him not being a Leaf next year, both high. He'll play his butt off to prove himself. Leafs either flip him at the trade deadline or run with him into the playoffs (fingers crossed).
Peg him in as the high speed offensive option for the 3rd line.
Think this also gives Nonis some more trade options. I'd HATE to lose Kulemin, but moving him for pick/prospect and bringing in Raymond would save us about 2 mil which could be used towards Kadri/Franson. I worry about our chances/cost of retaining Kulemin vs losing him to free agency or KHL. Or package Kule up with Liles... that'd make me less sad to lose Kule. We lose Raymond by end of year but pick Komarov back up with new cap space going into next year.

Raymond just needs to get to the center of the ice more often than he does, he's too much of a perimeter player. I think Carlyle will fix that and Raymond will have a pretty decent season.
Kadri as the leader of ANYTHING is laughable. I would trade Kadri and his prima-donna drama before it infects the rest of the team. To have a guy like that as a leader? Not a chance.

Kadri isn't the leader of this team, or anything. You okay?
Speaking of trades, you guys might want to get something for RNH while you can, before he enters his bubble boy years.

Hey now I wanted you guys to make it past round one last year. Cut me some slack. I actually see Raymond as a decent fit with you guys if kadri still hasn't signed.

Good thing you are an Oilers fan, and not a Leafs fan..
