Yes trade Phaneuf for a #1 shutdown D to play with Franson - save some money and gets that big blockhead outta the room!!!!!

dont need to have three lines.. just crash the net hard and shoot fom the slot

you'll score

dont evven need the sustained pressure.. just keep hurling your big bodies at the crease and the leafs wont be able to do sweet Richard all about it

- Dozzer

um... that would be sustained pressure.

"I disagree... you're RIGHT!"

gunnar is a far more manageable player cap wise moving forward.. franson seems to think of himself as a potential star.. he isnt.. and never will be

keep gunnar.. who is more reliable on the back end .. and move the guy who has held out twice in two years.

(frank) this guy.. seriously

- Dozzer

Of course he keeps holding out when the team keeps low balling him. Dmen who can do more than one thing well are more valuable. Gunnar is a shutdown stay at home dman who collapsed under the pressure of game 7 last year. Trade that bum and stop going cheap with the guys who can actually have a future with this team.

We need more than just reliable back there, and we need more than what Gunnar gave us when Boston scored 2 goals in the last 2 minutes. Dmen who can score and throw hits are better than Dmen who can...well...be reliably unreliable.

If fine with keeping Gunnar, but not at the expense of Franson.

i'd do that for certain.

thats kind of how i see franson.. he's a younger phaneuf who can actually hit the net (since phaneuf doesnt really do the big hit thing anymore)

100% with you on this one.. I ordered my two jerseys for this year.
Lupul and *drum roll* Bernier

- IrishRage

Ive never been a Reimer fan, but Im not sold on Bernier just yet either. Not exactly a whole lot more experienced than Reimer with similar numbers...on a better team...never played more than 25games in one year...I dont know.

The way I sees it, the Leafs have a good chance that either of them will be good...so tough to complain there.

you know phanuef was on the ice too.. our captain?

gunnar two goals gunnar two goals gunnar two goals

want to repeat it more?

personally i fault coaching for that.. both phaneuf and gunnar were gassed and carlyle left them out there. it was a dumb move.. they needed fresher legs on the ice.

Phaneuf was our best Dman last year. Franson was second.

Gunnar is the odd man out in this case.

I fault the whole team for that, but in the end, Gunnar looked lost out there even if people want to put the blame solely on Phaneuf. Yes, repeat it more. 2 goals, gunnar, 2 goals.

He should not be making a penny less than Gunnar. It's a shame that we're making examples out of Kadri and Franson, two players who could have a big role in this teams future.

Ya... cause Franson's puck chasing up by the top of the circle on the OT goal is what we want instead right?

Seriously... Franson wasn't on the ice the last 1:30 of regulation cause he'd aleady made it clear he couldn't handle Lucic AT ALL the entire series.

that doesn't in any way mean they should play together on the top pair.
