McCann has the Isles finishing 7th in the Metropolitan. Behind NJD and ahead of only Carolina. Have a hard time buying that.
My prediction (albeit, one that is based upon nothing other than a hunch)
PIT
NYR
PHI
NYI
WAS
CBJ
NJD
CAR
Top four make the playoffs. I don't think many points in the standings will separate 2-8. - Jethro09
I guess they are still stuck in 2009 |

70's. I think names after hockey legends is unique, something to set hockey apart from other sports, that all use geography to delineate devisions. Hull, Richard, Howe and Orr divisions. Better yet, create a Potvin Division and make the Rangers play in it. |

I'd love to go back to the Patrick Division or hockey legends works. Lemieux Gretzky LeFleur, Howe, Plante, DiPietro....good idea

Not sure if Philly beats Islanders...also history states Rangers struggle during regular season and barely makes playoffs. I think you all will agree that Isles need to have winning record on home ice... |

I don't get why everyone is counting the Canes out. They were real good last year until Ward went down.

We all owe the city of Miami a debt of gratitude.
In other news....one of my beer league teammates says he read an article today that Sean Avery got engaged to the CEO of Bravo Network. This could be funny for a long time if its true. |

No way Carolina finishes #2 in the conference. I think they and the Caps are in for a rude awakening playing in this Metro division. No more fattening up on doormats. As it appears now, every one of the 8 teams in the Metro are decent squads. If the Isles are going to make the playoffs again, they're going to have to win a lot of tough games in the Metro division. No way you make the playoffs under this new format if you don't have a winning record within your division (and at home, for that matter). |

I heard about that but I don't think it's true. They were playing it up on Twitter trying to cause a stir. It wouldn't shock me if he was, but I think he just likes the attention it will cause. Sean strikes me as a potential suicide case, someone who loves the spotlight but may have trouble dealing with life now that it's gone.

I hate the Flyers with a passion but I simply don't think that team will be held down two consecutive years. They may not finish as high as I have them listed here, but I do think they'll be in the mix. The Caps and Hurricanes are wildcards IMO which means we can't get comfy with the idea that we'll be there by the end of the season.

Radek Martinek and minor leaguer Justin Johnson have been invited to camp...I would expect Johnson to make the sound tigers to provide protection with Gallant for all the kids |
