Yeah for sure, but if I was a fantasy guy (which I'm not) and I used the second or third overall pick on him, and all I got was his "pretty good" I'd feel like I wasted a pick. - Jeffmt
Top 4 in whatever order should be Sid, Ovie, Malkin, Stammer

What's the deal with him? Is it still the shoulder issue? And yeah, if he has to miss a month he has to miss a month. Given where the Oilers are right now it doesn't make sense to start taking risks with anyone's health. - Jeffmt
Same surgery as Hall last year. He says he will be good to go, like he should. Oilers are being extra careful
He will be just fine.
Honestly I think he will be their best player when they all mature.

One of 8 players ever to win 3 MVP's.
Gotta give credit when it's due. - robin_steele264
The first 2 MVP's yeah...last year, no way was he the Leagues MVP...played well for 20 games, sucked for the first 20, so waht he got the Caps into the playoffs, all they had to do was beat up on the Jets Panthers and Canes. |

He carried them on his back down the stretch to get in. Scored in like the last 25 games.

Just thought it was Tavares MVP, he is the soul of that team finally making it back to the playoffs, and he was lights out all season. |

another good point, just that I do believe there were more vital and deserving players who carried their teams more than he did. |

Yes, hands down the best player in the league. As a complete player I really don't think anyone else comes close right now. - Jeffmt
Not when you take injury history into account. Can we really project him to play more than 50 games next season? |

Fair opinion
I get that. I'm not his biggest fan, my fav player is Datsyuk. But when Ovie gets revved up there's no stopping him.

Leafs would be nuts to dump Phaneuf. There goes the playoffs, teams would steam roll our D without him - TonkaPhaneuf
Are you stoned, if the leafs could unload that useless knob, call Air Canada book a flight, he is with out a doubt the most operated do man in the NHL, I'd rather see Rick Lanz come out of retirement, then have to watch Phanuf anymore. |
|
|
|
I believe when I see it, the leafs ain't lucky enough for someone to want Phanuf, I can't believe their talking about resigning him, they wouldn't pay Grabo his money but they'd give Phanuf 6 million, and their trying to short change Franzen, mind numbing. Phanuf can even hit the net, the only twine he hits is the black stuff up over the glass, he's absolutely useless. |

I think a couple teams in the league would fork over an idiot contract.
Don't think it'll be the Leafs

First overall gotta be Crosby wether you like it or not. - robin_steele264
Stamkos and there's no argument in my mind. He's always healthy AND produces at a high level. Goals are also usually more difficult to accumulate than assists. |

Feaster has stated over and over that they want players with high hockey IQ.... Dion does not fall into that category |

Not in most of them, but they're a harder that to accumulate than assists. |

so it seems that Cleary is going to sign a 3yr deal with the flyers....... that should make the lack of cap room a little more interesting and where does that leave Gange |

You can't even put a coherent post together, so it's hard to take you all that seriously. He's an overpaid, but solid Dman. Not top 10 in the league but certainly top 20 IMO. I would love to have him back on the Leafs, if we can sign him for a million less than he's making now. Doubt it though.
Also, it's Franson and Phaneuf. |
