I never draft the Twins or Ovechkin, they dont make my top 10, I just cant cheer for them to get points. - DDM-Coga
Ovechkin is dominant. Can't deny it.
Personal bias can't overrule logic and reason now.

Yeah guys, Hall and Tavares both are great top ten picks this year. For top five though, outside of Crosby, Stamkos, Malkin, Ovechkin...and then so many guys close in points, it's a real tough call.
I notice in mock drafts there's a real change with some old but still big names and a new wave of young players, and names are all over the board. It's a real tough call on a lot of these guys.
As for Ovechkin I've picked him with 2nd overall a couple of times and I was disappointed because they were his down (for him) years...I swore to never pick him top ten again, but after this past year I would. He's a great fantasy player too if you have hits, he gets a ton of hits.
I'm going to end up picking a lot of Leafs and Oilers. Everyone in my pool is either a Leaf fan or Leaf hater so there's this phobia about picking Leafs which is stupid because they have some great picks as do the Oilers. Just forget about plus/minus.
I thought RNH was going to be my steal last year, I really wonder about him again, if he's healthy nobody will pick him and he could rip it up on that team. Having two or three Oilers could be amazing for points and PP. |

If the Leafs could dump Phaneuf somewhere they would have money for Kadri and Franson.
But what is an overpaid younger version of Sheldon Souray worth in a trade? - Coburns_Nose
Phaneuf will be earning more money next season. |

I wonder this every time its mentioned, im thinking why does he get so much flak, i personally would love to see him in detroit - digitalbath
Phaneuf is terribly underrated.
And with the minutes he logs and stats he puts up, how can anyone say he's overpaid? |

People who dismiss Phaneuf don't usually use stats I notice |

They can't. Phaneuf's stats are great. He's averaging well over 40 points a season in his career. And he literally logged the toughest minutes in the entire NHL last season.
I especially love the "He should be getting 3 or 4 million" comments. |

Just cant do it, I hate having the number 4-5 pick in the draft just so I can avoid that situation. |

Tyler Myers would have to turn it up several notches, he's been garbage for the past 2 years. Anyone who thinks that Buffalo has a better defenseman right now than Phaneuf has no clue what they're watching. - Jeffmt
I would take Myers and Ehrhoff over Phaneuf any day. And believe it or not, I attend a lot of NHL games. Go figure. |

Gotta give credit when it's due.

I'd say 5ish is fair.
It's not the stats... It's just the way he plays.

And you probably see a lot of Buffalo out there in Vancouver. Based on my recent exchanges with you it doesn't surprise me that you don't know what you're talking about. I'm not going to get into it tonight though, have fun. |

Yeah for sure, but if I was a fantasy guy (which I'm not) and I used the second or third overall pick on him, and all I got was his "pretty good" I'd feel like I wasted a pick. |

One thing I like is they aren't rushing RNH at all. Might miss a month. No biggie long term.

What's the deal with him? Is it still the shoulder issue? And yeah, if he has to miss a month he has to miss a month. Given where the Oilers are right now it doesn't make sense to start taking risks with anyone's health. |

Yes, hands down the best player in the league. As a complete player I really don't think anyone else comes close right now. |
