No he isn't, but Phaneuf is a better defenseman than anyone on the Oilers, so if he was traded there, it would be an upgrade for Edmonton. More importantly, it would be an upgrade to the rearguard of a team that's starting to look pretty stacked up front, so it would be an upgrade of a weaker link.

Dion was so over rated for so long he is now becoming under rated...forget about money you are right. Phanuef is far better than anyone the Oilers have and is the best on the Leafs by a country mile.
