Remember that he was selfish as well.

"Les amis de Kovy" thought he was pretty generous.

I believe it's still running and raising funds for sick kids.

Opening line up

Bourque-Plek-Briere
Pacs-DD-Gallagher
Galchenyuk-Eller-Prust
Moen-White-Dumont

Parros and Gionta won't play the first few games

I like the look of this forward grouping the most. I am also of the opinion that Pleks deserves some quality wingers for once. Giving him Briere and a Bourque (early last season/25goal man) should set up a awesome 2nd line.

I'm very intrigued by the play of the "3rd" line with Eller and Alex. If those two progress even a little bit more then that line is going to electric. Not only will they be generating offence, but they will lay the body (except for Alex) and punch you in the mouth.

Bergevin was a defenseman, scout, etc. I'm sure he has a good idea of what he needs in a D group. It appears that he wanted NHL ready guys that compete for the entire lineup. Injuries are going to happen to your D so the rookies will get opportunities anyways, but at least you always have NHL ready guys that will be coming back or helping the rookies. Seems like a good idea, IF a couple key things happen: 1) markov remains relatively healthy i.e. no more surgeries. 2) markov plays well 3) Diaz bounces back. 4) Emelin returns to form quickly. Too many "ifs" to be relatively comfortable on the back end. Lots of "ifs" that could result in complete disaster for the team. D is our biggest problem and it will have to be overhauled again next season. This year will show which rookie seizes the injury opportunity and becomes a solid member of the core. Or, Bergevin will have to try to make a huge trade for a guy like Edler or Enstrom-like player for next season.

Oh man, I'm glad hockey's almost back.

Really hope you step up your blogging Mr.Engels.
This once a week stuff is unacceptable. One of the greatest franchises in sports and you carry on as if you were writing about little league soccer in a community news paper. I'm embarrassed.
