I can't buy into those last 10 games. They were horribly flawed for 38. They've made some changes and on the upside, these big young defenders on the ice today give me some hope.

They went 11-5 down the stretch, beating 9 playoff teams, all of whom were fighting for position. While I don't place too much on them as a sign that a corner was completely turned, I'm not going to ignore them, either.

I think they'll make the dance in a 5-8 spot. It will depend on health and how the tenders fare obviously. I don't see them competing for the cup for a year or two, but you never know. Lecavalier is a solid pickup IMO as a leader.

The most vital items are team defense, goaltending and the coach doing a better job of putting his players in the best position to win.

The last one basically means, don't hand a guy more than he can handle, just because he's a veteran.

Cleary has confirmed he has not signed with the Flyers but it remains a possibility..

Don't you think Washington might just struggle within a much tougher division? The southleast has been a farce. They can't play terrible for half the year and turn it on at the end and slide into the 3 seed anymore.
