Raymond doesn't have to have a spot on the team to make the team. He could easily get a 2 way contract and just be purely back up which I don't mind at all. A winger goes down with an injury and Raymond could slide right in. - Sheppy99
2 way contracts don't mean jack anymore.
Bottom line: if he gets a pro contract from the Leafs, anything over $925,000 counts against the cap if he is on the Marlies.
So unless they really want him on the big club, he won't be signed. They don't have the cap space. |

I wouldn't pay him anymore than 1 million a year anyway for 1 year. |

Or they sign him for $925,000. Would definitely be worth a shot at that price.
But, contrary to the common misconception, a two way contract does not make one immune from waiver claims. At 925K, if you tried to send him down, he'd be claimed. |

Just watching the Baby Leafs vs Sens rookies on replay on Leafs TV. First period just over. Granberg does not look good to me at all. |

That Gomez contract has to be one of the 2 or 3 worst contracts handed out in the salary cap era. The strangest part of it is that two different GMs thought it was a good idea! |

I'm guessing he would rather go to the KHL than be a Marlie. |

Not necessarily. Some people would rather try all avenues before leaving. Plus he probably knows this is special circumstances with the cap situation for all teams. If he can grin and bare it for one year, he'll get picked up again next season. |

If leafs were to send him down he probably wouldn't get picked up, if he could go to Russia and make some good money I would think he'd be signed already?
Only sign him if he comes in and plays VERY good. Imo |
