I don't see how $8.5 for 8 is a fair deal for Kessel.

He just barely scored over a ppg pace last year and has never done that before.

Malkin is overpaid at $8.7 per year, but at least he's had 3 seasons of 1.30 ppg and above (up to 1.38). One could also mention Crosby.

You're not going to win in a cap world paying players like Kessel that much.

doesnt fit a 3rd line role though... same problem they had throwing tiny tim and all those players on it... 3rd line needs to have a purpose not just be excess players
