Name the last player who played in 60 NHL games AND the WJC? It just doesn't happen, bro. Reilly's going back to junior where he belongs. - fifty__missions
I can't think of specific examples but yes it has happened before in the past. Plus the world juniors isn't the be-all end-all of player development...
So let me just get this straight. If Rielly earns a spot after training camp and proves he is a better option on D then JML, Paul Ranger, TJ Brennan, Jesse Blacker etc.. then he still shouldn't make the team?? What kind of message does that send. |

Schenn was a decent example of rushing a kid too fast. I think Rielly knows exactly where he stands and where he will be playing this year.

Rielly has an extra year of development plus 22 professional hockey games under his belt. Not a good comparison.
A better comparison would be Karl Alzner, Erik Johnson, Oliver-Ekman Larsson, Erik Gudbranson, Dougie Hamilton or Jonas Brodin. All defensemen who made the jump to the NHL after 1 season of development. |

Either you have the skill to make the team, or you have Schenns skill. I do not believe a team can destroy a players ability to play hockey. It is a yes or no question. |

you are on drugs, his first year was amazing. The next season of him "bulking" made him get fat and slow as (frank). |

1st year he was amazing, the skill was there, he ruined it himself |

That they haven't been good enough lol. I'm still a Blacker fan though and him being a righ-handed shot will benefit him a lot this year going into camp. |

Nice list...
The decision to send Rielly back to the WHL might not be as easy as some think..I doubt they send him back for fear of "rushing" him for me if he goes back it will be because of #'s...

I agree. If he were a right-handed shot I bet he would almost be guaranteed a spot. |

Raymond could be a steal. He's stupid fast, and has a decent amount of skill. This just got interesting! - MCharisma91
He speed believe it or not could be his downfall. Kid has tremendous talent, But he skates so fast that when he attempts to stop he often falls over and turns over the puck.

Guy is talented and I hope he lands on his feet somewhere. (No pun intended)
When I think about it, He actually could be a pretty good fit in T.O. |

and missed an entire year of development. How does he have extra year??
I'd rather not Rielly become EJ or Gubrransson. This doesn't help your case. |
