It'll be an annoying topic all year.

Especially as the deadline approaches.

I'd say with don Meehan in his corner he will look at all options for max $$$
- robin_steele264

Which is what most agents do.

They all get annoying at some point.
Kessel already said he didnt want to negotiate through out the season.
Just not news worthy right now.

5.5 for Dion would be where I would be comfortable.

he should just take the pay cut to hopefully eliminate the "overpaid" "overrate" comments that are non stop.... but i am sure they would continue even at 4million

- senstroll

I think the Leafs start at 5.5 and the negotiations end somewhere around where he's paid now. When you consider the past present and future of Phaneuf 5.5 to 6.5 is just fine. Is it really worth arguing over 1 million a season?

not really, only Kessel's is of real importance long term.
he's already stated he doesn't want to negotiate during the regular season....so it shouldn't be chaotic. Only for the foolish.

Oh but the fan 590 says that means he doesn't want to play in Toronto and secretly yearns to play for some poopbag small market team...

No, Im talking about Kadri.

Franson will be resigned in the next week.
The Leafs need him.

Letting him walk without a replacement would be stupid.
The leafs D isnt that great...now without Cody.....oh boy....

- Fakepartofme

letting him walk?

no.. he doesnt walk anywhere.. he sits. and does so again next year til he fulfills his RFA status

That's great buddy.
And so is how to lose 10 lbs in a week, what some wife of an actor thinks about his weight lose, what Miley Cyrus did on some awards show.... but none of that is news worthy either.

Its called filler. Food for the depraved.

And hockeycentral is not the "news"

I would say Kadri is more important to the present and future than Franson. Liles can play Fransons minutes.

Well in the playoffs he had 6pts in 7games, Chara and Keith got 15 and 13 in 22 games.
Regular season he had 8th most pts of defensmen, he averaged just under 19 mins of ice time, tied with Pa-neuf with 3 PWG and I believe he was up there in hits.
So I dont think he's easily replaceable for nothing.

- Fakepartofme

my god.. so he put up some points and now he's the be all end all of our D?

guess i dont see things the way you do
