I think Kadri should use his time off to learn to put the bong down and maybe learn the art of the "push up".. - bixll

Hell. I need to be paid!!
Whatever is left with the salary cap, give Kadri 45% and give Franson 55%, each with a two year deal. They should be able to get their big raise, in a year or so. - PrinceLH
the little money left in the leafs cap should not come into consideration, its not for Kadri and Franson to manage.

I was saying they didn't deserved to get paid. Just not 4 or 5 million dollars per year. I find it arrogant for him to ask when he has not even played a full season in the NHL.. - bixll
All he and his agent have to do is look at the comparables, is there one contract signed since the new CBA that help Nonis in his cause to sign them both for 2.5?
..so Subban. there are many others that dont help |

oh i dont care if guys smoke weed.. not one bit. so long as they produce.
kadri will have lots of time to think about things if he doesnt smarten up and take whats being offered.
colborne is dying for a chance.. kadri would be smart not to give it to him. - Dozzer
I don't care if he smokes it either, if he can be the player that he wants to be paid like.. But he is not that player yet. He had 5 pretty goals, that may have hit the highlight real. Is he supposed to get 1 million per pretty goal. I would rather him score 35 or 40 that were not so flashy, then he gets his lottery win. |

That's kind of where I am on this. We have seen glimpses (maybe more from Franson) of what we think these guys are becoming. It would be prudent to do short term deals for both of them. This would also give the players an opportunity to prove themselves before becoming FAs and have them do so at a time when there is more money to be had around the league.
Management has the hammer and the players would be idiots if they sit out for any period of time. - Canada Cup
i see both scenarios playing out very similar to subban last season.
once the player and agent realize the club is willing to move on without them.. then they will pick up that pen and sign.. just you watch.
kinda hoping franson holds out for a couple games.. let rielly stay up for 9 without burning a year of the ELC |

Management needs to decide if they want to try to lock either of them up long term. If so, other moves are needed. My guess is Nonis is willing to take his chances on two yrs for each of them |

yeah.. i also bear in mind that we dont really know the truth here.
kadri hasnt exactly endeared himself to the media through this.. so obviously what we're hearing is weighted against him |

and he is also overpaid
trade them before overpaying.. in the end.. you're far better off. - Dozzer
if you're not willing to overpay players, your lineup will be devoid of second and third liners. |

doesn't have much leverage but has enough leverage to give him options. if we've learned one thing about NHLers, it's that they're willing to stand up for their cause, even if it means cash out of pocket. |

so whats his options? europe? the khl?
his options are to end his nhl career or play ball.
those are his options.
the leafs do not need point producing d-men.. if anything they have too many. |
