nothing, because it's a package deal, even with the cap going up, what team would have $12-15 million available for a combined 2 signings, thats what makes this situation different then others

although, Nashville, (if they ever figured out you need goals to win), could be a possible destination, 4 years $27 million each

Thank you .

This is exactly what Canucks have to be careful of. It is a package deal and Canucks can do really really good or sink their franchise. They need a hometown discount and use the extra money to bring in some support.

Possibly, but I was thinking (if its viable) more so a team that's struggling for goals & culture change, imagine the Preds with a power play of the Sedins & Weber?

What would you offer them on July 5th (or whatever the date is now)?

Yeah, this is not going to end well...

They don't need the money ,they do need a cup.

If it was one player it would be ok but you have 2 declining players . IMO you don't give declining players a raise. You cut back . It does not have to be a haircut ,but their is nothing wrong with 5 mil per year.

I agree let the Sedins retire a Canuck but keep the salary around 5 mil per,or do one year deals at a time.

Stick them on stl. On a line with Backes. And they finally have a legit 1st line

A good comparable is Alfredsson he is at 5.5 so seeing there are two they should be 5 - 5.3

Can't see the Sedins taking a put cut when they're 33, but I can't see them receiving a big raise either... 5yrs @ $6.5m for $32.5m.

If Gillis wants fewer years, it will be $7m per.

I think 5.5-5.75. Right now the twins are considerably better then Alfie

Agreed on the package deal thing, but geez, even their declining numbers are still better then other players in league making more or similar, I can't see less then $6 mill each, Hamhuis makes $4.5 & the twins at $5 mill ea.? Despite the slight decline its low, as I mentioned earlier getting more support up front, (an injured Booth) another scoring winger would do wonders for the top 2 lines and may help their production. Of course the new defense shot blocking coach will have a lot to say about their production.

They'll either want short term, 2 years or so, or something that will take them into retirement. Im thinking 5 years too. Maybe 6.

... Alfy is 8 YEARS OLDER?!?!?!

Definitely not a comparable. That's almost like saying Brodeur and Lundqvist are comparable right now.

No chance H/D take a pay cut. Dream on.

5.75/yr is too low to get it done, especially on a 3 year deal.

Maybe on a longer term -- but with the Luongo fiasco, I can imagine management wanting to stay away from deals that take players into their 40s...

6.5/yr on a 3 year deal. People can say what they want about the Sedins, but they're still All-Stars.

4 years, 30m would be appropriate. Most swedes want to go back to Sweden and raise their kids before they start middle school. Naslund was a mentor of the twins and he went back at 35.
