Lots of people keep their mistakes no matter how useless they are. Iggysbff is still here, isn't he?

That production's actually not far off what $4ish million buys in FA these days...

Bure wanted out of Vancouver because he was mis-treated by management from day one.

He also requested a trade privately the season before he sat out.

I still don't agree with how he handled it, but I can understand why he was frustrated.

He did a lot for hockey in Vancouver—time to let it all go and celebrate the player.

#10 in the rafters is fine by me. I was more interested in your thoughts on luongo's # up there.

They said they are not buying him out this year. They never mentioned next year.
- VANTEL

They will keep him as happy as they can until they find a suitable replacement, they will not leave the starting job up to eriksson or lack without breaking them in a little first...i can see lack only getting like a max of 10 games this year...being how injured he has been...that may even be generous to say 10 games...if they buy out luongo they will be screwed even worse than having an unhappy luongo...he is proving he's not the type of player to sit out...plus it wouldnt benefit him...one thing no one can fault luongo for is his compete level...he wants to play and win...i still dont fault him for game 7 against boston...he cant score goals...had they done any of that in game 7...it could have changed things and people wouldnt be saying how much of a flop luongo can be in pressure situations...every goaltender lets in soft ones now and then...i don't think anyone can be critical of that situation unless they've been in the same situation...

OK. My bad. It's a touchy subject with some still.

The Lou situation does have some similarities.

Really depends how Lou plays and handles himself from here on.

I see that, Bure's # is getting retirerd come november even though he wanted out of vancouver. Does that mean Roberto,s # is in the rafters sometime down the road as well?
- papajk

possibly, but Bure was the first ever russian to be in the HOF, and pretty well the best russian to ever play the game (ovechkin may catch up soon but none the less) had bures career not been cut short, he would have put up unbelievable numbers

good try troll

If Luongo wanted to be here it would make things a lot more acceptable.I blame Lu for game 6 but also blame the rest of the team. Luongo is only one of the many plroblems on this team, scoring has been our number one problem for two and a half years.

We have some good things that will happen in the next two years but we will also have a good share of mockery ahead also .

I guess soon as Oilers open their eyes and realize Yak and Hall can't play nets and their current goalie is useless.

Nah. U can keep luongo.

We'll keep our guy at Half the price, for only 1 year, with better numbers last year.

Agreed he had 2 shutouts in the series. We scored 8 goals in 7 games. We need to give some credit to the bruins . They just kicked Pens ass in 4 games and I think they only had 2 goals in 5 games.

Lu against Chicago the years before was much worse.

That's typical Edmonton. Overvaluing . I went to Edm last winter and my brother referred to the Oiler players as our young superstars

That's what we used to say about cloutier. Thought his family was so good he'd marry into it.
