I have 7 more years before I hit the back alleys and collect bottles so I can get the discounts to those fine dining places.

possibly, but Bure was the first ever russian to be in the HOF, and pretty well the best russian to ever play the game (ovechkin may catch up soon but none the less) had bures career not been cut short, he would have put up unbelievable numbers

good try troll

- annoyance_101

Fedorov's the best Russian to ever play in the NHL. And it's not really close.

You do know in the law of averages it is easier to put up better number with more games played right?
- rune_74

What? Um...no. Only of you're actually any good is that statement true. Jeez.

Flyers will go nowhere with their current goaltending. If they are getting shelled Gillis could come with an offer (Something like this) Kesler Lu Edler for Hartnell B.Schenn Emery Couriere . Some kind of package of 2,4 or 6 players would be attractive for the Flyers or Pens.

Well he is wrong . There was an offer in place and told not to follow through by Lu. John Shannon reported it as well as a few Vancouver reporters ,so he is not impossible to move. Before there were teams like CBJ that would have welcomed him and he nixed that too .So Lu is part of the reason he was not moved.

Package deals can be made to move him ,just wait to see what makes the most sense and make sure we have a goalie to replace him .

Those offers were during the old CBA.

If Jensen makes the team does that make Booth or Higgins expendable?
- VANTEL

No, just gives us the depth everyone's been whining about.

Yeah the he said, she said is a bit much

But IMO Lu lied. He said he tried everything he could to void his contract and nothing worked. However if Lu didn't report to camp the canucks could automatically void it. So he is clearing lying about that. Why not something else

- Bieksa#3

That's not what Luongo said. He said he looked into voiding his contract...not did everything he could.

I feel the same way but man that won't look good on Gillis's resume . Sign a 4 year contract and get rid of them in first or second year.
- VANTEL

As long as he gets anything in return isn't it betters than not signing him and getting nothing?

Datsyuk.

Ovie and his 3 MVP's say hi too.

Then there's Malkin

They were...no doubt. But Fedorov was better. Datsyuk...before there was a Datsyuk.

"I explored every possibility, and that was definitely one of them. At that point, there's different logistics into something like that and it's very complicated. But definitely, it was something that I was looking at and ready to do if the opportunity came up."

Also, the claim that he made any demands about where he could be traded was false.

Management has already said they're not buying him out...so...whats left to do.....? oh right TRADE him...and for that to happen he has to become TRADEABLE
- annoyance_101

No, they didn't buy him out last summer. Things could easily change by next summer. For all we know that could have been the plan all along. It could be what Aquilini told Luongo when he was in Florida. Play hard this year, if we can't trade you by next summer we'll buy you out.

I agree. That and the fact that the Olympics are coming is the best thing that could happen to the Canucks. It's the carrot at the end of the stick to get the best out of him.

Booth hasn't had a good year since 2008. But sure.

His best year since then is either 23g 17a 40pts -31

Or 16g 14a 30pts -5

Yeah real productive for 4.25 mill.

Nobody will take that contract, at least a guy like Hemsky has some chance of rebounding.

- TheLeafsInsider

Well, in '09 he had 31g 29a 60pts +10 in 72 games, but I'm sure that was just a typo on your part. Or, more likely, you trying to pass '09 off as only '08.

Is Horvat better served dominating in Juniors or filling a 3 rd line center hole on the Canucks?
- VANTEL

If he can play 15+ mins in Vancouver he's better off here. Anything under 13 mins a game and he's better off in junior.
