Also... the Leafs should explore trading Orr... I know he's awesome and I love the guy but we have McLaren too. Its just not necessary. He'll free up 1 million in salary.

jbold, I don't like your tone. I never said we'd receive an asset but you purposely imply, on my behalf, that I did so you can use that condescending tone with me.

First of all, salary dump can be achieved by adding a draft pick in the late round and it has been done before - ie. a 5th.

Secondly, teams do deal draft picks, albeit late picks, again, for enforcers. See Montreal & Parros.

yeah.. many NHL teams prefer the guys to go to the CHL so they can solely focus on hockey without really worrying about their grades.

In hockey the guys who go the college route either do it FOR the free degree, or they are no where close to pro level and need the weaker competition and 3-4 years of development before worrying about it.
