That was a lame win over a lame team though. I don't think many Bills fans were reminiscing about that opener in the parking lot yesterday. - Buffalo--Sabres
Agreed. The D won that game against Houston. We also had 4 field goals and a running game. EJ>Edwards>Losman. Open up the play book stop taking dumb penalties |

Agreed.
On another note, Losman was awful, still has a better career completion % than the almighty Doug Flutie. Just saw that |

Flutie had the benefit of the #1 defense. Just sayin for a starting QB, Flutie's #s were average at best. |

Oh I know but he had that gamer quality. Losman wasn't built that way. Flutie wouldn't back down from any situation. He was like Gerbe but made it work at the higher level |

I 100% agree on this. For example did anyone know that Gallagar would have been awsome for the habs? I sure didnt, did I think Galy would be good yes but he did real well.
We are a few surpises away from a really good team. Who knows maybe Drew gets his act together and puts a whole seaosn together - hubie
Word. October will be rough because of the schedule, but we have an 82 game season for a reason. |

I will agree with that Homie........ Also, these people comparing Manuel to Losman? How unrealistic is that? Losman was as dumb as they come....... Manuel was composed and he was restricted by a conservative game plan. Anyone who knows football could see that..... - rapperray
I didn't compare the two directly (at first) I just said, EJ looked very JP. Well except that he couldn't throw the deep ball. |

I think no matter how good EJ and crew are, we don't have any real chance until Tom Brady and Belichick ride off into the sunset. At least were putting the pieces into place and getting things worked out while we wait for that era to end.

Buff... The Patriots were not overly impressive..... They are clearly a team starting to decline........ Don't give them so much credit. They can thank the Bills coaches for yesterdays win...... Spiller belonged on the bench. Had Jackson played exclusively yesterday the Bills chances to win would have been greatly increased..... The conservative game plan played right into the Patriots hands... |

I understand Spiller maybe not being all there mentally, but wow he was bad |

That's pretty much what I'm saying. I think even in decline, Brady/Bellic will beat us to the end. Its rare a team has such dominance over another, but such is life. Once this division is legitimately up for grabs again, football will be fun in Buffalo again. |

I think this is the last year that the division isn't up for grabs. Maybe the Jets aren't as bad as we all thought they would be. Miami def didn't look all that impressive but Brady is 36 years old. Yes he was till vintage Brady when needed but with Gilmore and Byrd there I think we are talking about a victory right now. |

All this but the Jets aren't good. They won at home on a dumb penalty by Tampa playing a road game that statistically speaking, weren't very likely to win anyways. |

Oh believe you and me the Jets aren't good, but they aren't as "bad" as we thought they are (perhaps) The Pats are going to win the division at 10-6 or 11-5 at best. Next year I see the Bills contending for the playoffs deep into the season but not getting there. I am calling it now 2015-2016 AFC East Champion Buffalo Bills. Yes it is only one game but I saw a lot from EJ yesterday that we haven't seen in a QB in forever. He was calm and looked in charge. Even when we started 5-0 with Trent he didn't lead the team. I am starting to realize what they saw in him. I didn't want them to take him but I think we will be happy they did.
Edit: EJ is the Bills first rookie QB to have 2 TD's in a season opener. |

One thing Ill say I loved about EJ is one several occasions he threw to a spot and relied on wr;s getting there. That was a big dimise of the last few qb's |

The Jets arent good and neither are the bucs. Me thinks Josh Freeman is no more than a good college qb and hes proved it year in and year otu so far. |

disagree
the bills gave a C+ effort yesterday and was leading with a minute left in the game
if byrd nutted up and played with a wart on his foot and if the coach fed Fred the ball more in the 4th quarter, they win that game
2 more good drafts and this team has the foundation for a descent run for years |

he looked ready to lead, something we have not seen behind center since flutie IMO |

Totally agree. He at least carried himself as ready to take charge of the team and be its leader on the field. Someone that wants the ball in his hands to make the play when one needs to be made. Plus that throw to Stevie for the TD was pure poetry. I haven't seen a Bills QB make that throw since Kelly |
