Waterloo County, home of RIM.
My buddy worked there, I kept asking him how he likes his RIM job.

Turns out the RIM job was an ass (frank)ing, he was one casualty of the restructuring.

I have a question which i am unsure of and dont know if its legal or would work. Seeing how players get extended in their final year of a contract throughout the season or beginning of season etc etc

If kadri signs a 1 year deal contract worth 2.5-3M, is he able to sign another new contract a the same time or throughout the season which will be a new contract extending him lets say 4-4.5M for 6 years which will kick in the following year? Which that "new contract" will not count against our cap until next year when it kicks in? I don't know if this can really happen or even talked about here yet

I would think any signed contract would fall under the cap at that time.
Not sure though, the whole thing is confusing as hell.
If there was an angle, I'm sure it would be used. Agents are like lawyers, they look out for their product/player. With that, there is no guarantee that the second contract would be guaranteed, basically if it isn't written and signed, no player will take that risk, and if it is written and signed, that would be a cap hit.

Its not really a risk. You are given 1 year contract because you want to fit all those guys under the cap. You sign/extend him to a totally new contract which a new contract will always kick in the following year. If kadri wants long term, just give him long term, the 4 or 4.5M he is asking for will arguably be a steal and those numbers will be based on the potential which guys like E. Kane got, JVR, etc ... same thing you can do with franson but i have no clue if this legal because it is an excellent idea to use (loop hole) to our advantage

i was just thinking this, would make total sense to do and it sounds like a loop hole, if these guys want longterm. You just gotta do both contracts for them there and then, just the 1 year contract will be small due to the fact we want to fit them both under

There is no loop hole, I'm sure that has been discussed and has contract rules set by the NHLPA. Those guys don't overlook contract intervention.
Too lazy to look it up, but I'm sure it is a no no.

What do you guys think Gunnarsson's trade value is right now, draft pick wise?

Sorry, I don't follow football, but I knew Manning was a big name.
So your post seemed like someone picking Crosby to have a great year in the NHL.

Trade Gunner for Blackberry?
That will satisfy both your needs tonight.

Why would it be a no no. Its practically the same poop as extending a player on their final year

As I said, allot of rules I don't understand, but I think I saw something in regards to a players age and how it reflects the ability to re-sign them.
Stop confusing me man, it's getting late.

I think anyone who said Welker and Amendola would have down years for either injury reasons (Amendola) or being a 3rd receiver (Welker, who was obviously their #2 from the start) didn't really understand how hard it is to cover a fast, smaller, slot receiver. They are going to produce in the games they are in, it's that simple.

The big one that I wish I took was their TE. Never saw that dude coming. I have Amendola in my main league.

- Compeyson

I said that whoever emerged as the number one TE in Denver would be a top 10 TE. They were all in the 200's in the draft.

Unfortunately, I didn't know Julius Thomas was that good and someone beat me to him, anyway. Dreesen could still come back and be a factor, though.
