He played decently. But obviously Leaf management felt they could do better. Hence the Bernier trade. Which I think was a great move. Bernier is the owning night starter.

One thing that's intriguing with Reimer that's in black and white is that his save percentage was top 10 in the NHL last year. Let's just say for argument's sake that by the trade deadline it's still in that top ten. Then the case is more compelling for Calgary that maybe Reimer IS really a top starting goalie - would you trade Giordano for him?

It just wouldn't be the right time for Calgary to acquire a legit starting goalie, they're supposed to be tanking. It's like the recent NJ-Vancouver trade. New Jersey paid less than market value for Schneider, but the team they ice in front of him won't be competitive for years.
