It does make sense that any GM or exec would look to his former organizations to make a trade. He's got the inside track on his former employees in a way he doesn't have with other teams.

Making trades is all about information imbalance - knowing something the other guy doesn't. My fear isn't Burke targeting our big name players, but some of our depth guys and prospects.

I'll bet guys like Jay McClement, Nikolai Kulemin, and a handful of minor leaguers are on his watch list. The good news is that this might open up a buyer for Liles.

With our luck, we'll start discussing a Liles to Calgary swap and it will morph into a larger deal that becomes a blockbuster and Burkie fleeces us.
