Yeah...but if Kadri doesnt sign then his play will suffer. So I think Kadri needs to sign right away to make sure that JVR can produce as Kadri signing means Kadri will be playing and if Kadri is playing he will take offensive pressure of JVR.

Well no, see, while they play on different lines it is still related.

Without Kadri, JVR becomes one of the Leafs top point getters thus being relied upon to put up points for the team. With the added pressure one could argue that JVR would flounder and not produce. With Kadri signed, the expectations may lower for JVR on an individual level and he could therefore strive as he is nolonger "needed" or "relied" upon to overproduce from his previous years.

Kadri should sign.
