There wee legitimate, connected reporters who claimed that Burke's firing in Toronto was mainly because he didn't get along with the board (which is plausible even without the affair rumors). the other stuff is mostly rumors, helped along by hacks like Steve Simmons. I'm not sure whether I believe it, but I don't care either way.

800K base salary. If he hits the bonuses then he earned them. There was no overpayment.

As an observer BB is not to blame for any of the cap issues that the Leafs are facing - Nonis is responsible for taking on/signing the following 5 contracts

Burke had nothing to do with

1. Clarkson UFA signing
2. Bolland Trade
3. Bernier Trade and new contract
4. Bozak Re-Signing
5. Gunnerson Re-Signing
