Me neither.

Quick aside, with respect to Vinny.

The Flyers like to do that creepily bad photoshop work where they put newly acquired players in a Flyers uniform in all the marketing materials despite the player never having played with the Flyers.

The Flyers tickets they give to season ticket holders have various players on them and Vinny, in his awkwardly photoshopped Flyers uniform, is no exception.

The real problem? They went to all the trouble of photoshopping a Flyers uni on Vinny, but did NOT make Vinny the guy on the ticket for the Tampa games.

WTF?

Is that who that was? I couldn't figure it out. It was kinda creepy, actually.

A lot of you guys seem like older people so I am guess not a lot of you play NHL 13 but one thing I have noticed and can't stand is every time I play the Flyers and see Vinny he is wearing number 30 and it is just disgusting lol Not sure if any one else had that problem when they moved Vinny to the Flyers or not.

You can change the jersey numbers if you're controlling the roster moves.

In order for this team to be successful, there needs to be a coaching change. As much as I like Lavy, i see his system failing again this year. Personally i think you need another pronger type on defense to make his system work.
- PhillaBully

Look, I think Lavvy might be getting close to the end of his shelf life here, but who was the Pronger type on defense when he won the Cup in 2006 in Carolina?

Happy to the news about Couturier's offseason workouts. I think the kid is going to be a 2 way beast who will eventually fill out to 215lbs or so and be one the best shutdown centers in the league. I think he has potential to be a bigger, and perhaps a bit more skilled version of Guy Carbonneau and if so, the Flyers are lucky to have him.

What does he weigh now?

It is truly awful. They've done it in the past and I feel like they need to take away the Photoshop license from whoever is doing them.

Just take a still of the new guy from their introductory press conference putting on the new sweater and call it a day.

Maybe, I don't know.

I do know that some healthy, positive development from Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier (along with some health luck for the team, in general) would go a long way towards success for this team, regardless of the coach.

I also think he has made piss poor decisions in developing the kids...Hes the kind of coach that needs a veteran team. That of course is just my opinion.

I agree and disagree. He has used the kids and put them in important situations. I dont like what happen with Couturier last season.....I think it was too soon to try to up his role. And when he was put back into a defensive situation he actually played pretty well for the most part.

But overall I think he has shown great trust in his young players when they have deserved it.

I'll be honest, I don't disagree with this at all. But I just told myself that I'm going to keep an open mind, and see what happens. He's been successful in the past. Some of the comments coming from him, don't suggest that he's going to change. But I'll wait until I see them play, to come to a final judgement. And that's going to take time.

Really glad to see Couts putting on some weight. Hopefully somehow that will translate into better puck control on offense, not to mention the benefits on the defensive and FO parts of the game.

As for Lecavalier, couldn't agree with Bill more. Vinny is upgrade over Briere.

There is no question Lecavalier is an upgrade over Briere. The thing about Danny Briere is that he's money in the playoffs but you have to make the playoffs first. Even if Lecavalier cannot be the player he was five years ago, he's still very much a better regular season player then Briere., which I can live with. Lecavalier is bigger, younger and has a more balanced game then Briere. There is not much to dislike about the signing of Vincent Lecavalier. In my opinion it isn't money in the bank that Jake Voracek will outshine Lecavalier. In fact it seems like there is a surprise break out player behind the obvious number one star every year. Last season it was Voracek, the season before it was Scott Hartnell. In my experience of being a Flyers fan, the big name signed forward normally has a solid season in his first season. Briere did it, Forsberg did it and Roenick did it. It's normally the second year of the contract the begin to disappoint. I expect Lecavalier to get our hopes up and we should be overrating him by next summer.

I felt it was a little desperate to have Sean Couturier play the point on the power play last season just to get him power play time. In my opinion his big body could work more wonders down low. Brayden Schenn has played the point in Voracek's absence a couple of times in 2011-12 and did a good job. He easily looked better then Couturier back there. So I ask this, who is more important to get power play time, Sean Couturier or Erik Gustafsson? In my opinion it's out of these for the last remaining power play spot. Even if Gagne is re-signed, I would still have both these young players play ahead of Gagne on the pp.

Gagne, if he's even on the team, should be on the PP only if there is an injury to another player.
