Schneider? Gillis dug himself in that hole but played it smart. Honestly look at the nucks right now. They are not in a rebuild. They need more of a retool like the senz are doing. Luongo is a good goalie and his fully capable of handling the duties just as good as schneider. The appropriate thing to do to get MAX value was to trade schneider even though he (frank)ed up on that one as well since he didn't accept the oilers deal which was EVEN more than the devils

We can then trade reimer and benier for a couple draft picks that might be nhl ready in 4 years.

But that was the whole point. No one wanted his contract or luongo. The return for luongo was at bare minimal. So if luongo is just as decent or in my opinion better than schneider, id rather just keep luongo and get max return on schneider.

The issue was the canucks mistreated him regarding playing schneider over him which ruined their relationship. If that didnt happen, there wouldnt be bad blood
