Here's a real dumb question, has Kadri actually turned around and said he wants 5.5M? or did he actually compare his work to JT?

I know I know:
@TSNBobMcKenzie: Kadri believed to be looking long-term (6 yrs in Tavares stratosphere of $5.5M per). Leafs want short, 2 yrs at P.K. Subban $ ($2.875M per).

But what's he basing that on? The picture that Nonis painted for Dreger?
Hey, i got a great story that the Toronto media said was a sure thing: Roberto Luongo to the Leafs. If something seems too ridiculous to be true....it is.

He (Gillis) is so stupid they (other GM's) knew he was over barrel. He was luck Lou Lamoriello needed a goaltender.

Devils presented the best offer, thankfully. I think the Horvat kid is gonna be a really good young player.

I think the only reason why we're hearing Tavares name is because Bob brought up his caphit.

Dont even think Kadri mentioned Tavares to the Leafs or compared himself to him

The worst case would be if what Kadri really wants is 4 a year for 5 years or something, a great deal that they pooped with the bad cap management.

No, Im not hating on Gunnerson.

If Franson holds out, and Gunners Hip looks Bad in Preseason, give the guy half a year on the LTIR. Sign Franson.

If Gunnerson is the Old reliable Gunnerson, you can look at Moving Franson.

No Stairs. No Brolldozzing Liles.

Kadri should sign a two year $6.5 million dollar deal, $3.25 per, and prove his worth to the Leafs. Same for Cody Hodgson and the Sabres. Claude Giroux did it because he knew he was good, maybe Kadri knows he doesn't have it in him over 82 games???

Joe Colborne sharpen up your skates. Your going to be battling Bolland & Trevor Smith for 2nd line center due to Kadri hodling out.

Don't know, but if he thinks he's worth 5mil on a long term no thanks. Not yet. It has to be a bridge. Suban did it/ Duchense did it. and although he's done really well in those 48 games, and shown the flashes we knew he had in his other stints/in the AHL those guys were more established.

It has to be a bridge. I think 4 for franson on a multi year and 3 or just under for kadri. If that's what it is, the Leafs can make it work cap wise.

It may all be about 1 year VS 2 years for KAdri.

Word to this post. It's just being greedy. Simple as that. I think it would look much better on a player if he did just that. Sign a smaller deal to tide him over for a year or 2. Then when he puts up the ppg numbers, he can come back and say that he took it to prove to the team that he was a legit investment and now I wants to get paid!

I don't disagree, just talking about the benefits of the longer deal - so long as the player lives up to the hype. If Kadri wants 4 per, thats a great deal for both sides.

No reason to fire a guy that's had success, despite his ineptitude on certain things. His team has made the finals, won a couple President's Trophy's and he's made the playoffs every year.

How do i put this in better terms.. if your team has made the playoffs every year, without changing anything significant to better your team to make you have a better chance at winning the cup. Then it is COMPLETELY useless, to make the playoffs, to be kicked out the first round or 2nd round.

This is why i dislike the canucks, they have NOT improved their team to have a better chance at winning the cup

Hate to agree with a Nuck fan but in this case, if Kadri was confident in his ability he wouldn't be scared to sign a 1 or 2 year deal. Kadri should be saying: " fuk yeah I'll sign your 2 year deal, cause in 2 years when I prove how great I am, I'm cashing in on a nig payday". Look at what Subban did, short term deal, he turns around & wins the Norris. He had confidence in his ablilty.

Not many teams change out their core players for the sake of change, except the Flyers, that doesn't make sense. That said, he has tried to make changes and he's also been too patient with players like Raymond. It's just nothing he's done has worked...he's an idiot.
