I think it's just an assumption that they need quality in all core positions though. I would think a solid core has
2 quality scoring/playmaking centers
3 quality scoring/ wingers
1 quality shutdown Center
1 top pair 2 way d
1 top pair shutdown D
1 legit #1 goalie

All at the very least mind you.

Without actually going and looking it up Andrew Ladd the Bhulin wall are the only ones i can think of that were on the team in the 08-09 season. Khabi was gone after that season though when they had the man from France and Niemi

The Leafs are playing with fire with Kadri and Franson right now. Those two should have been their focus this off season, not Clarkson, Bozak, and Bolland. In my opinion so far Nonis has made primarily bad moves. He wasn't the reason the Leafs made the playoffs last year; that was the team Burke built.

seriously? you're really playing that card? the Leafs have TWO unsigned RFAs 28 days before the season opens with not enough cap space to sign both. that's more than 10% of the 18 skaters they will dress nightly. that deserves criticism, sorry.

Why? what have they proved? They only played well for half a season. That's the only reason the Leafs made the playoffs you know. Had it been a full season, all the poop teams in the East, would've stopped being poop and the only team that would falter would be the Leafs. Get with the times dude. Kadri is and will always be a bust ever since Burke took him before Ottawa. And Franson, c'mon man, dime a dozen Dman ever since the trade. Never be as good as Slaney. Leafs are gonna be poop this year, because they were lucky last year because they didn't do well at those stats that re now all the rage and decide who wins and who doesn't. Results are already in. No need to play the games.
