Good luck on the MCAT, I was once a victim of that test.

Only thing I can think of is AV wants to bring Morrow in. Morrow has stated that the team he wants to play for is looking for a way to fit him in and AV saw a lot of him in the west. Figure you trade Boyle, MZA and Pyatt, i think they bring in Morrow. Far fetched as all hell but maybe?

Yeah, AV wants morrow? Not likely. AV loves finesse players not gritty. I see him as a huge Stepan fan. I think DS will excel under him.
He had his boys in Vancouver. I could see him wanting Edler. Richards will be a huge AV guy. I know him and Arneil are not Brassard fans. Brassard hardly changes the culture though. Girardi? Callahan?

DS to me seems like a Kesler-type player but with less skill in terms of hands/skating/speed. he has a very high IQ and sees the ice very well and can connect some amazing tape to tape passes but isn't dynamic enough where he's gonna take the puck and wheel around the zone with sick skating and speed and then dangle a player or 2 and snipe it (is Kesler this type of player even? I assume he is, but truthfully, I don't watch many Canucks games).

Brassard, minus Nash, is probably our best finesse guy. he could have arguably the best hands on the team, so hopefully he blossoms under AV. Richards I expect to do well under AV too...or better at least. seemed like Richards seriously disliked Torts and there was some tension there considering that Torts responded to Cally and Hank when they reached out to him after the firing but he ignored Richards.

Callahan, no way in hell he ever gets traded. I am leaning towards Girardi being close to untouchable as well.

I just don't see any trades being done besides getting rid of the 4th line scraps in asham, powe, pyatt, and boyle. I think the NY culture is great right now and I have zero idea why a coach would wanna change it. what coach wouldn't love a team that commits to patience, youth, defense-first, 100% effort every shift and every practice, working hard, battling, being physical, never making excuses, etc.

what the rift between Arneil and brassard is I don't know. But it without question. And AV and Arneil are besties.
Callahan although I would never trade, is not a AV guy. He doesn't like players who play with emotion. His whole we will get them on the scoreboard mentality.
I see MDZ taking another step under AV, but not Girardi. Just my opinion

i just don't think any coach can not be a fan of a guy like cally. he might not fit the mold of an AV guy but if AV even hints at trading him, sather will tell him to STFU

from what i've heard, AV leaves the leadership up to his players and cally is one of the best leaders in the nhl. i think he'll be fine, plus, cally isn't all grit. he has some hands and some skill.

i can see girardi being less effective. but as you said, i think mcdonagh and MDZ and moore will all become much more effective. but girardi is still a core player and sather will only trade him if it becomes apparent he's not re-signing here, or if we need scoring help and someone like connor allen or mcilrath or faulk steps up to replace him...it's just that girardi is such a big part of our top 4 and gives us so much extra depth on there. we go from having 3 #1 Dmen in staal, girardi, and mcdonagh (which is an amazing luxury to have and the reason we have one of the top blue lines in the league) to 2 and then our defense becomes very average.
