It is tough. They are top 5. How do you really compare them. Maybe top 3. Throw Rask in there and how do you really decide who is better when so much counts on the team in front of them. Henrick does have more pressure and less help. NYR isn't winning the cup any time in the next few decades but LA and Boston both have won it recently and could be contenders this year. LA wouldn't be a favorite but it wouldn't surprise us if they won. If NYR won, I am pretty sure that is the 10th sign of the apocalypse. Put Henrick in LA and would he be better than Quick? That is a question we don't know the answer to but one we might get more insight into at the start of next season. He won't be in LA but he might be on a better team. Put him with Vancouvers 6 dmen ahead of him and I am thinking there will be some record shutouts being set. Van only has 2 forwards but they got some dmen. - Hall Fan

Rangers defense is very arguably better than Vancouvers. |

Let's just stop acting like the Rangers were a below .500 team because they couldn't score enough, they played 32 playoff games the last 2 years and are 1 of 2 teams to get out of the 1st round in each of the past 2 years, imagine what the can do if they win some more games they should when Hank is consistently shutting the door |

Rangers have a great defensive style of play. Changing to offense this year should be very interesting. Its a complete opposite strategy. Will the Rangers excel or will they decline? Nobody knows yet. Personally , I am in the minority but I think Torts was a great coach and would love him to coach the Isles. |

Av is a defensive coach. We're not going run and gun, but we will have a more open/creative offense. Defense will still be first though. |

What held Torts back was stubbornness ,having 1 inept assistant with no idea how to run a PP, no breakout, no transition, it's going to be a breath of fresh to see an emphasis on completing a head man pass |

he's a puck possession and first pass out of zone guy. offensive guys will love it. if you play D and can't make a 1st pass, you'll ride the pine.

If he ever wants to win a cup, he should sign else where. Could you imagine if he went to the oilers with the young team that they have. |

I think Eklund got so excited to write a blog about something other than an upcoming blog he lost command of the English language. Happens to the best of us. - chadrock

Not everybody can be the next Keith Aucoin. Brassard scored 11 points in 13 games with the Rangers. Aucoin scored 12 in 41 games with the Islanders after being claimed.

I think that was over blown(like Hank wanting to leave NY and a team that is very capable of winning a Cup), his back checking was more of an issue but he became more responsible than before he got here - cranford93
Do you really believe this? |
